Buen día, a todos los miembros de esta hermosa comunidad, en especial a aquellos que inician su camino en el mundo de las letras.
Hoy quiero proponerles algunos consejos que le servirán para su andar pausado y seguro en el ambiente literario. Estoy segura de que a muchos les servirán de guía para encaminar sus próximos pasos a las publicaciones.
- Comparte lo que escribes
Si llevas un tiempo escribiendo para ti, sin mostrarle a nadie, es hora de sacar a la luz esos #poemas o #cuentos que hace un tiempo escribes. Te recomiendo compartir su #lectura con personas allegadas (amigos, familia, compañeros de estudio o trabajo).
El hecho de que personas de tu estima, o cercanía lean tus escritos, te permitirá tener los primeros lectores de tu obra y que sean ellos quienes sugieran, cuestionen, o inspiren a seguir perfeccionando tu escritura.
- Acércate a un taller literario local o participa en talleres virtuales.
Aunque muchos consideran que los escritores son empíricos y no necesitan de talleres literarios, la vida cotidiana ha demostrado la importancia de estos espacios de intercambio.
En Cuba, por ejemplo, existen talleres literarios en cada municipio, lo que posibilita el acercamiento de muchos aficionados a la literatura.
En los talleres, además de adquirir conocimientos técnicos sobre la escritura, los asesores buscan transmitir otras enseñanzas, y se logra el intercambio con los demás miembros del taller.
Hace doce años, yo transité por un taller literario, y agradezco infinitamente todo lo aprendido, los amigos que hice, el intercambio con el asesor literario, devenido en mentor, y lo que vino después: la publicación de mis tres libros.
Sí eres de los que prefieres mantenerte al margen, te recomiendo al menos contar con un mentor, asesor o algún amigo que te ayude a visualizar en tus textos aquello en lo que debes trabajar para que sea una obra publicable.
- Participa en concursos literarios
Sí bien los con concursos no son un medidor definitivo, sí aportan al crecimiento de un escritor, pues lo entrenan para participar en concursos a nivel local, nacional o internacional donde pueden llegar a reconocer su obra.
Me recomendación es empezar desde el nivel más bajo: los concursos locales, para vayas creando confianza, pero ir en el transcurso ir aprovechando las potencialidades para lograr la inserción de tu obra en concursos regionales, nacionales e internacionales. Apuesta siempre por el crecimiento.
La plataforma digital ofrece múltiples concursos en los que puedes participar desde casa solo con adecuarte adecuar tu obra a las características de cada convocatoria.
Desde mi experiencia, he participado en concursos convocados por la página www.escritores.org y lo considero una buena opción para el crecimiento de cada escritor, ya que muestra su obra a un público más especializado que la evalúa y la premia.
Así vas iniciando lo que denominamos en el ambiente literario como currículo, con la participación en concursos, eventos y publicaciones derivadas muchas veces de los premios de estas convocatorias.
- Envía tu obra a revistas o publicaciones periódicas.
Enviar tu obra a publicaciones periódicas es una forma de darte a conocer en el ambiente literario, estás poniendo tu obra por primera vez ante el juicio de especialistas que decidirán si publicarla o no.
Pero, te advierto, debes estar preparado para la aceptación y el rechazo, muchos hemos sido rechazados una, dos o más veces, sin embargo, quien desea ser escritor debe insistir, insistir e insistir buscando oportunidades, pu s muchas veces no es tu obra la que carece de valores, sino, que no has encontrado un lector especializado que sepa valorarla adecuadamente.
Antes de enviar a alguna revista, es preciso que estudias sus perfiles, los temas que generalmente publican o si tiene alguna convocatoria en específico abierta.
También es preciso presentar una obra inmaculada, sin errores gramaticales ni ortográficos, donde se evidencie tu buen dominio de la escritura y la frescura de tu propuesta.
- Empieza a organizar tu primer libro
Mi último consejo es que cuando tengas una obra que tú mismo reconozcas que tiene valor, que ha sido revisada, premiada en algún concurso o publicada, conformes la idea para tu primer libro.
Organizar un libro no es difícil cuando conoces los objetivos que persigues y ya tienes el objetivo claro de que deseas convertirte en un escritor reconocido, dispuesto a ser leído por cientos o miles de lectores.

Share What You Write
If you've been writing for yourself for a while, without showing it to anyone, it's time to share those #poems or #stories you've been writing. I recommend sharing them with people you care about (friends, family, classmates, or colleagues). Having people you care about or are close to read your work will give you your first readers, and they can be the ones to suggest, question, or inspire you to keep perfecting your writing.Join a local writing workshop or participate in online workshops.
Although many believe that writers are self-taught and don't need writing workshops, everyday life has demonstrated the importance of these spaces for exchange. In Cuba, for example, there are writing workshops in every municipality, which allows many literature enthusiasts to engage with them.
In workshops, in addition to acquiring technical knowledge about writing, the instructors aim to impart other lessons, and participants exchange ideas with other workshop members.
Twelve years ago, I attended a writing workshop, and I am eternally grateful for everything I learned, the friends I made, the exchange with the writing instructor, who became my mentor, and what came after: the publication of my three books.
If you prefer to stay on the sidelines, I recommend at least having a mentor, advisor, or a friend who can help you visualize in your writing what you need to work on to make it publishable.
- Participate in literary contests
While contests aren't a definitive measure, they do contribute to a writer's growth, as they train them to participate in local, national, or international competitions where their work can gain recognition.
My recommendation is to start at the lowest level: local contests, to build confidence, but gradually take advantage of the opportunities to submit your work to regional, national, and international competitions. Always strive for growth.

From my experience, I have participated in contests organized by the website www.escritores.org and I consider it a good option for a writer's growth, as it showcases their work to a more specialized audience that evaluates and awards it. This is how you begin what we in the literary world call a curriculum vitae, with participation in competitions, events and publications often resulting from the prizes awarded in these competitions.
- Submit your work to magazines or periodicals.
Submitting your work to periodicals is a way to make yourself known in the literary world. You are putting your work before the judgment of specialists for the first time, who will decide whether to publish it or not.
But, I warn you, you must be prepared for both acceptance and rejection. Many of us have been rejected once, twice, or more.
However, anyone who wants to be a writer must persist, persist, and persist, seeking opportunities, because often it is not your work that lacks merit, but rather that you haven't found a specialized reader who knows how to properly appreciate it.
