Jactancia
te entregaste a mis brazos, complacida.
¡Bendita la forma tan sutil
en que sembraste, entre nos, la distancia,
dejando dos corazones ilesos!
Brilla tu recuerdo como un candil,
sin dolores. Y pienso con jactancia:
¡Unos días fueron míos tus besos!
Boasting
I didn't want you ephemeral in my life,
I longed for you beside me every day.
That was not what your soul was asking for
and my illusion, without you, was dejected.
Perhaps you were confused by me,
because of the flattery I offered you
and you, who suffered from loneliness,
surrendered yourself to my arms, pleased.
Blessed was the subtle way
in which you sowed, between us, the distance,
leaving two hearts unharmed!
Your memory shines like a candle,
without pain. And I think with boasting:
Some days were mine your kisses!
