¡Hola a todos los integrantes de ésta comunidad! Me considero una persona multifacética e indecisa, así que si tuviera que sentarme a hablar de mis intereses, la lista sería un poco extensa je je Siempre me ha llamado mucho la atención las colecciones y aunque, el pasatiempo del que les voy a hablar, no es exactamente una colección (o tal vez si, no sé ja ja) durante un tiempo. Fue una actividad que me gustó muchísimo.

Hello to all the members of this community! I consider myself a multifaceted and indecisive person, so if I had to sit down and talk about my interests, the list would be a bit extensive hehe I have always been very interested in collections and although the hobby I am going to talk about, I don't is exactly a collection (or maybe yes, I don't know ha ha) for a while. It was an activity that I really enjoyed.

Soy amante de la naturaleza. Me gustan mucho las plantas, pero lo que más me fascina, son las hojas. Desde que somos pequeños, aprendemos a dibujar las hojas de la misma manera, con la misma forma... Pero en la naturaleza nos fijamos, que cada hoja es diferente o al menos, dependiendo de la planta, la forma de las hojas varia, al igual que sus nervios y demás partes internas. Son detalles en los que no nos fijamos pero que sin embargo,están ahí.

I am a nature lover. I really like plants, but what fascinates me most are the leaves. Since we are little, we learn to draw the leaves in the same way, with the same shape... But in nature we notice that each leaf is different or at least, depending on the plant, the shape of the leaves varies, as well as its nerves and other internal parts. They are details that we do not pay attention to but that are nevertheless there.

Mi interés comenzó precisamente por eso, al encontrarme con hojas de formas tan variadas y pensar que eran tan hermosas que deseaba conservarlas. Así que empecé a hacerlo. Cada vez que veía una hoja que me gustara su forma, la recogía y la llevaba a casa. Tomé un álbum fotográfico grande que nunca había usado y decidí destinarlo para mi nueva "colección". Aunque colocar las hojas dentro del álbum estando frescas o aún verdes, era complicado, ya que algunas tenían un nervio central algo curvo y el plástico protector, quedaba sobresaliente. Fue así como busqué de prensarlas primero antes de colocarlas en el álbum. Para ello, utilizaba los libros, de preferencia los más gruesos que tenía en casa, para que con su peso, las hojas se fuesen secando aplastadas en lugar de en formas irregulares.

My interest began precisely because of that, when I came across leaves of such varied shapes and thought that they were so beautiful that I wanted to keep them. So I started doing it. Whenever I saw a leaf that I liked the shape of, I would pick it up and take it home. I took a large photo album that I had never used and decided to use it for my new "collection". Although placing the leaves inside the album when they were fresh or still green, it was complicated, since some had a somewhat curved central nerve and the protective plastic was protruding. That's how I tried to press them first before putting them on the album. To do this, he used the books, preferably the thickest ones he had at home, so that with their weight, the sheets would dry flattened instead of in irregular shapes.

El proceso de secado de cada hoja varía. Así que constantemente revisaba entre las paginas de los libros que había seleccionado para esta tarea y cuando verificaba que las hojas estaban lo suficientemente aplastadas, procedía a sacarlas de los libros para colocarlas en su lugar definitivo en el álbum. Nunca tuve una especie de orden en su ubicación, tampoco las separaba por tipo, simplemente las colocaba donde tuvieran espacio. Como es una colección de mera "contemplación", preferí no ser tan metódica en ello. Me agrada tomar el álbum y revisarlo, ver cada hoja y comparar sus formas. Al igual que pensar a qué tipo de planta pertenece o por lo menos, si es de un árbol o una planta más pequeña.

The drying process of each leaf varies. So he constantly checked between the pages of the books that he had selected for this task and when he verified that the sheets were flattened enough, he proceeded to remove them from the books to place them in their final place in the album. I never had a kind of order in their location, nor did I separate them by type, I simply placed them where they had space. As it is a collection of mere "contemplation", I preferred not to be so methodical about it. I like to pick up the album and go through it, looking at each sheet and comparing their shapes. Like thinking what type of plant it belongs to or at least, if it is from a tree or a smaller plant.

Otra de las cosas interesantes de éste hobbie, es seleccionar cada hoja de algún lugar que hayamos visitado. Como un recuerdo de un viaje o paseo, para después, recordarlo cuando se observe en el álbum. También añadí unas cuantas flores pequeñas y pétalos a la colección. A pesar de que las mismas pierden sus colores vibrantes, tras secarse, obtienen cierta belleza.

Another interesting thing about this hobby is selecting each leaf from a place we have visited. As a memory of a trip or walk, to later remember it when you see it in the album. I also added a few small flowers and petals to the collection. Although they lose their vibrant colors, after drying, they obtain a certain beauty.

Como añadido final, también llegué a guardar en el álbum, unas cuantas plumas. Más que nada porque cuando salía de paseo, me encontraba con algunas muy interesantes. Aunque son más difíciles de mantener aplastadas, así que descarté la idea de seguirlas colocando dentro del albúm.

As a final addition, I also managed to save a few pens in the album. More than anything because when I went out for a walk, I came across some very interesting ones. They are harder to keep flat though, so I scrapped the idea of keeping them inside the album.

Este pasatiempo en particular, además de ser económico, porque no gasto en nada, es muy relajante, al menos para mí. Sentarme a contemplar las hojas y rememorar algunos recuerdos, me agrada. Sé que podría ver como una actividad "aburrida", pero lo bonito de los hobbies es que no tiene que gustarle a los demás, sólo a ti. Muchas gracias por haber visitado mi publicación.
