For a couple of weeks now, I've noticed that the official CreativeCoin Community front end has been returning an error message, every time I try to access it.
I feel rather sad about that, particularly given that this account was created specifically to support the community and creative content on Hive.
I haven't been able to find any kind of formal statement from the official account, nor does anyone else seem to have an answer... I have looked at the community Discord channel and people have asked but no replies seem forthcoming.
Not surprisingly, the native token has taken a dive in the Hive-Engine marketplace, shortly after it was showing signs of life, perhaps helped along a little by the success of LeoFinance.
Of course, you can still use the "#creativecoin" tag, but I find myself wondering what good it is to continue putting effort into something that has a dubious future?
Which also makes me start to think about how I might "re-purpose" this account.
Community Building is not Easy!
It is sad, of course, to consider the reality that success stories like LeoFinance are the exception, rather than the rule.
What also tends to be true about community building is that most communities don't fail because they were a bad idea, they fail because the "novelty" wears off and the original "builders" get new ideas and new interests and simply grow bored with the reality that community building a lot of relentless and endless work, often for very little reward.
I'd just as well be napping!
Having been there myself, you have to constantly talk, constantly innovate, constantly encourage, constantly build, constantly announce new plans and so on and so forth.
For the moment, I'm going to still hold on to my small chunk of CCC tokens while deciding what to do next. Who knows, maybe someone with the stake and technical skills to do so will take over development of the community?
