This is why a decentralized internet, web 3.0, is so important. We are only at the beginning stages of this new paradigm, and there will undoubtedly be some hiccups along the way. While certain apps on the blockchain can mute your posts, they cannot remove them from the blockchain.
As I'm sure you've heard, Parler, which is an alternative to Twitter, and is currently seeing a large influx of users from the U.S. who are more of the conservative persuasion - is being deplatformed by Big Tech.
First, Google removed Parler from the Play Store. Thankfully, on Android at least, you can easily side-load the app directly from their website.
Second, Apple has now pulled it from their App Store.
And finally, Amazon is terminating their hosting services on Amazon Web Services.
Almost all of this is driven by employee demands at these companies.
The claim is that Parler is "too free speechy" for them, and not policing their content the way these companies want them to. They are claiming Parler is allowing content which "promotes violence".
