🛑 Hive is a Blockchain, Not a Backup Drive: The Case of
I’m writing today about a serious, attention-demanding activity happening on our beloved Hive.
Now, some might wonder: "What is the worth of a 'small' account like glimpsesytips.dex talking about such big topics?" Before I dive in, I think it's important to mention how this "little" account has helped our ecosystem before. I don't say this to brag, but to show that I care about the health of this chain:
DEX Bot Hunter: In the past, I helped identify and remove nasty bots in the L2 DEX markets that were hiding behind "Gentleman" personas while draining the system.
Spam Cleanup: When bot comments were flooding every post under the guise of "token distribution," I provided the suggestions that helped leadership wipe them out.
Proven Results: Even respected members like have seen my efforts firsthand. You can even check my history here: View on DTools

📉 The New Threat:
There is a new account named that joined just one day ago. In a single 24-hour window, this account has posted over 1,100 posts.
This account is using our already burdened Layer 1 (L1) as a personal backup storage. Our hardworking witnesses and API node providers are already doing their best to handle the load, but genuine Hive-loving authors are facing slow speeds because of this kind of bloat.
The Reality Check:
If this user wants to use Hive as a free backup, they should put in the effort to use L2 transactions. Using L1 post operations for mass data storage is like parking a fleet of semi-trucks in a bicycle lane.
⚡ Why This Affects YOUR Wallet
Hive transactions are "free," but they cost Resource Credits (RCs). When a specific transaction type is spammed repeatedly, the system-wide cost can jump.
I’ve personally noticed that when the network is loaded with account ticket claims, the RC expenses spike dramatically. flooding the chain with 1,100+ posts in a day will inevitably affect the posting expenses for every other Hive user.
🤝 A Request to the Guardians
It is concerning to see this account receiving delegations (500 HP from waivio and 2,000 HP from curatorhulk/thecallmedan) while it clogs the pipes.
I know is constantly busy with community moderation,
and
are always willing to protect the ecosystem. I am requesting you guys to look into this. We shouldn't allow Hive L1 to be used as a dumping ground for Web2 archives.
