Hello friends,
This is our first post in Art Teachers community. I hope together we can build a welcoming and friendly place, where we can share our experience.
For right now I’m planning to make posts on Tuesdays, I don’t have much HP to give a good upvote, but I will be trying my best to reward the best 3 posts here on Tuesdays.
So I will start with a simple flower drawing. We’ll draw daisies using pencil.
Step by step
- So first I draw the middle part of the flowers. They are pretty much half ovals, and two curved lines, which will be stems.
- Now under the middle part I draw shapes that look like a skirt. It’s a guideline for the petals.
- Now I draw each petal individually as it shows on the picture.
- Add a few leaves. So all the lines have to be curved rather than straight, since it’s a botanical illustration.
- Final touches are the details, light lines on the petals, dots on the flower, and the thicker outline on the whole flower composition.
This is how I would draw flowers. I understand that other art instructors might do it differently, and that’s fine.
I hope you enjoyed the drawing.
