A decir verdad, no son muchos los libros que he leído en mi vida. Leer libros es un hábito relativamente reciente para mí, y que estoy empezando a explorar. De los pocos libros que he leído, destaca uno que inmediatamente vino a mi mente al leer esta invitación al concurso de @OCD. Este libro se titula "El Informe Phaeton", y su autor es Albert Salvadó, ingeniero industrial nacido en Andorra.
To tell you the truth, I haven't read many books in my life. Reading books is a relatively recent habit for me, and one that I am just beginning to explore. Of the few books I have read, one stands out that immediately came to mind when I read this contest invitation from @OCD. Otro libro que vino a mi mente es "La isla misteriosa" de Julio Verne, pero aún no he terminado de leerlo, algo que tengo pendiente, pero que sin duda también daría paso a una película muy interesante en caso de materializarse. No sé como describir en pocas palabras este libro luego de haberlo leído, pero una película basada en él sería muy disruptiva.Una de las razones por las que me interesé en este libro, fue porque me llaman la atención los temas de civilizaciones antiguas y misterios de nuestro pasado. Alguien me prestó el libro en físico al saber esto, y así pude leerlo.

This title is my own invention. I chose this book to inspire a movie I would create because what it tells is epic, amazing, worthy of a film. I don't know how to describe this book in a few words after reading it, but a movie based on it would be very disruptive.One of the reasons why I became interested in this book was because I am attracted to the topics of ancient civilizations and mysteries of our past. Someone lent me the book in physical form when I knew this, and so I was able to read it.

Habla no solo de nuestra historia remota, abordada desde la ficción, sino que toca temas de religión, mitología, ciencia, biología, ingeniería, antropología, geología, etc. Sin ir más allá en detalles, de forma general puedo decir que el libro se trata de lo siguiente:¿Y si la historia que nos han explicado fuese un engaño?

It is a novel of fiction and althist (alternative history). This book at the same time is very diverse in terms of themes. It speaks not only of our remote history, addressed from fiction, but touches on topics of religion, mythology, science, biology, engineering, anthropology, geology, and so on. Without going further into details, in a general way I can say that the book is about the following:What if the history we have been told was a fake?

De aquí surge la figura de Noé, una especie de Pastor que construyó el arca y salvó a todos los animales del planeta. Sin embargo, el libro relata la vida de un escritor que es contactado por una especie de sociedad secreta, quienes le revelan gradualmente los verdaderos hechos de nuestro pasado remoto para redactar un informe, el Informe Phaeton.

Different and separate cultures around the world speak of a common event in their distant past: a great flood. We usually think of the Great Flood as a Biblical event. From this arises the figure of Noah, a kind of Shepherd who built the ark and saved all the animals of the planet. ¿Que hicieron para provocar un cataclismo global? ¿Quién era Noé? ¿Cuál es el origen de los relatos Bíblicos, mitologías y leyendas antiguas?...

La película
Quiero destacar que la intención del autor con esta obra, más allá de causar revuelo por su disruptividad, es llevarnos a reflexionar acerca de nuestra historia. Sacar nuestras propias conclusiones, de lo que fuimos y de lo que podemos llegar a ser. Bien podríamos nosotros mismos causar un desastre similar en el futuro. Lo cierto es que este libro es impactante desde este punto de vista, una vez lo lees te hace cuestionar todo.Es por ello que una película inspirada en este libro, en mi opinión, sería enfocada a dejar un mensaje positivo, más allá de contradecir con lo que tradicionalmente nos han enseñado. Esto sin dejar de lado que el libro fue creado desde la ficción, aunque Albert Salvadó ha hecho un excelente trabajo al crear esta obra, haciendo que todo parezca muy real y verídico mediante el uso de fuentes históricas reales, y sin embargo, dejándonos una "ventana abierta" a toda posibilidad en nuestro pasado remoto.
Sería un reto crear una película basada en este libro, ya que tendría que enfocarse en dos tramas o líneas de tiempo, además de integrar muchos tópicos tanto mitológicos como científicos. La primera, sería enfocada en el escritor (el presente), su vida personal y en el contacto con la sociedad secreta a medida que esta le daba pistas para realizar su informe.
La segunda trama, iría enfocada muy atrás en el tiempo hacia esta supuesta civilización avanzada global, y cómo se desarrollaron los acontecimientos entre las élites de dicha civilización. Inicialmente, se mostraría una breve historia de cómo se desarrolló esa civilización desde sus orígenes primitivos hasta dominar todo el planeta. Luego se desarrolla la trama en los últimos años de esa civilización, hasta que se genera el desastre.
The film
I want to emphasize that the author's intention with this work, beyond causing a disturbance because of its disruptiveness, is to lead us to think about our history. To draw our own conclusions, of what we were and what we can become. We could well cause a similar disaster ourselves in the future. The truth is that this book is shocking from this point of view, once you read it, it makes you question everything.That is why a movie inspired by this book, in my opinion, would be focused on leaving a positive message, beyond contradicting what we have traditionally been taught. This without leaving aside that the book was created from fiction, although Albert Salvadó has done an excellent job in creating this work, making it all seem very real and truthful through the use of real historical sources, and yet leaving us a "window open" to every possibility in our remote past.
It would be a challenge to create a movie based on this book, as it would have to focus on two plots or timelines, in addition to integrating many topics both mythological and scientific. The first would focus on the writer (the present), his personal life and his contact with the secret society as it gave him clues for his report.
The second plot would focus far back in time to this supposedly advanced global civilization, and how events unfolded among the elites of that civilization. Initially, it would show a brief history of how this civilization developed from its primitive origins to dominate the entire planet. Then the plot develops in the final years of that civilization, until disaster strikes.

Para finalizar, me gustaría recalcar que esta obra se basa en la ficción, y que se puede interpretar que su objetivo es darnos un mensaje para reflexionar como civilización acerca de nuestro pasado, presente y futuro. Por esto y por una trama de ciencia ficción muy interesante que se desarrollaría en el pasado remoto, pienso que una adaptación a la pantalla basada en este libro sería excelente.
To conclude, I would like to emphasize that this work is based on fiction, and that it can be interpreted that its objective is to give us a message to reflect as a civilization about our past, present and future. Because of this and because of a very interesting science fiction plot that would take place in the remote past, I think that a screen adaptation based on this book would be excellent.
