Today I want to tell you three reasons why you should give the cliché enemy to lovers a chance.</
3.La tensión inicial engancha/The initial tension is engaging
Seamos sinceros: la tensión inicial de este cliché siempre atrapa. No importa cuál sea la trama, casi siempre comienza con roces, discusiones y choques de personalidad que generan una emoción difícil de ignorar. Eso nos lleva a querer descubrir cómo, paso a paso, los personajes logran pasar de enemigos a amantes.
Let's face it: the initial tension of this cliché is always gripping. No matter what the plot is, it almost always begins with friction, arguments and personality clashes that generate an emotion that is hard to ignore. That leads us to want to discover how, step by step, the characters manage to go from enemies to lovers.
2. El desarrollo de personajes es profundo/Character development is deep
No voy a generalizar, porque soy consciente de que a veces este cliché se usa de manera superficial. Pero cuando está bien planeado y tiene un trasfondo sólido, los protagonistas se construyen de manera increíble. Me fascina cómo esas máscaras de fortaleza se van cayendo poco a poco, hasta mostrar la vulnerabilidad más auténtica del personaje frente al otro. Perdón, ya estoy fangirleando… jejeje.
I am not going to generalize, because I am aware that sometimes this cliché is used superficially. But when it is well planned and has a solid background, the protagonists are built in an incredible way. I'm fascinated by how those masks of strength gradually fall away, until they show the character's most authentic vulnerability in front of the other. Sorry, I'm already fangirling... hehehehe.
1.La emoción nunca falta/Excitement is never lacking
Creo que es el cliché con mayor potencial para mantenernos pegados a la historia. La razón por la que me gusta tanto es que en los verdaderos enemy to lovers los personajes parecen odiarse a muerte (a veces literalmente quieren matarse jajaja), y cuando se descubre que toda esa tensión en realidad escondía atracción, el resultado es pura magia. Claro, a veces sufrimos en el proceso… ¡pero vale la pena!
I think it's the cliché with the most potential to keep us glued to the story. The reason I like it so much is that in true enemy to lovers the characters seem to hate each other's guts (sometimes they literally want to kill each other hahaha), and when you find out that all that tension was actually hiding attraction, the result is pure magic. Sure, sometimes we suffer in the process... but it's worth it!
