Leer, además de ser un pasatiempo hermoso, también implica una gran responsabilidad, sobre todo cuando hablamos de trilogías. Y es que seguir una historia a lo largo de varios tomos no siempre es tarea sencilla: a veces nos atrapa tanto que no podemos soltarla, y otras, por diversas razones, terminamos abandonándola a mitad de camino.
Hello dear Hive community, I hope you are all doing well. As always, it is a pleasure to be able to come here and talk to you about what we are so passionate about: books. Reading, besides being a wonderful pastime, also involves a great responsibility, especially when we talk about trilogies. Following a story across several volumes is not always an easy task: sometimes we get so caught up in it that we can't put it down, and other times, for various reasons, we end up abandoning it halfway through.
Hoy quiero compartirles algunas trilogías que, por uno u otro motivo, aún no he terminado. Algunas se quedaron en pausa, otras en el olvido, y unas más simplemente siguen esperando a que sus autoras publiquen el siguiente libro.
Today I want to share with you some trilogies that, for one reason or another, I haven't finished yet. Some were put on hold, others forgotten, and still others are simply waiting for their authors to publish the next book.
3. Asesino de Brujas/Witch Killer
Esta trilogía prometía ser un clásico Enemy to Lovers, un trope que a mí me encanta. El primer libro lo disfruté bastante porque es entretenido y tiene una buena dinámica entre los personajes. Sin embargo, sentí que le faltó "algo" para engancharme por completo. Aunque descubrimos secretos interesantes y el mundo tiene su atractivo, no logró motivarme lo suficiente como para lanzarme de inmediato al segundo tomo. Pasó el tiempo, aparecieron otras lecturas, y al final se me fue olvidando… hasta el punto de que nunca la terminé.
This trilogy promised to be a classic Enemy to Lovers story, a trope that I love. I enjoyed the first book quite a bit because it's entertaining and has good chemistry between the characters. However, I felt that it lacked “something” to completely hook me. Although we discover interesting secrets and the world has its appeal, it didn't motivate me enough to immediately dive into the second volume. Time passed, other books came along, and in the end, I forgot about it... to the point that I never finished it.
2. El Rey Oscuro/The Dark King
Este es un caso completamente distinto. He mencionado esta saga varias veces porque me leí los dos primeros libros y, honestamente, ¡me fascinaron! James y Will me atraparon con sus personalidades, y la historia tiene giros que uno nunca se espera. Cada página me mantenía con la emoción de saber qué iba a pasar a continuación. Entonces, ¿por qué no la he terminado? Simple: todavía no ha salido el tercer libro. La autora decidió enfocarse en otros proyectos y los fans seguimos esperando. Yo, por supuesto, sigo atenta a cualquier noticia, porque sé que en cuanto se publique voy a correr a leerlo.
This is a completely different case. I've mentioned this series several times because I read the first two books and, honestly, I loved them! James and Will captivated me with their personalities, and the story has twists and turns you never expect. Every page kept me excited to find out what would happen next. So why haven't I finished it? Simple: the third book hasn't come out yet. The author decided to focus on other projects, and we fans are still waiting. I, of course, am keeping an eye out for any news, because I know that as soon as it's published, I'll rush to read it.
1. El perfume del rey/The King's Perfume
Aquí la situación es un poco más cómica. Leí el primer libro hace aproximadamente dos años y me gustó mucho. El segundo, Las cadenas del rey, lo quise en físico porque en él el protagonista es Magnus, y me parecía especial tenerlo en mis manos. Cuando finalmente salió una edición preciosa, lo conseguí. Pero aquí vino el detalle: había pasado tanto tiempo desde que leí el primero que ya no recordaba bien la historia. Mi plan era releer el primer libro y luego sumergirme en el segundo. Pero nunca lo hice. Así que ahora tengo pendiente no solo releer el inicio, sino también continuar con la segunda parte que ya tengo en físico y, por supuesto, esperar el tercer libro cuando se publique.
Here, the situation is a little more comical. I read the first book about two years ago and really liked it. I wanted the second book, The King's Chains, in physical form because the protagonist is Magnus, and it seemed special to have it in my hands. When a beautiful edition finally came out, I got it. But here's the thing: it had been so long since I read the first one that I didn't remember the story very well. My plan was to reread the first book and then dive into the second. But I never did. So now I have to not only reread the beginning, but also continue with the second part that I already have in print and, of course, wait for the third book when it is published.
Y así es como estas trilogías se quedaron a medias en mi estantería, unas por olvido, otras por espera, y otras simplemente por falta de conexión en el momento. Sin embargo, algo bonito de los libros es que siempre están allí, esperando por nosotros, sin importar cuánto tiempo pase.
And that's how these trilogies ended up half-read on my bookshelf, some forgotten, others waiting to be finished, and others simply because I couldn't connect with them at the time. However, one nice thing about books is that they are always there, waiting for us, no matter how much time passes.
