Hello dear readers.
i just finished reading a most excellent book, Woman of God by James Patterson. i highly recommend it.
At one point in the book i put it down to search for volunteer opportunities at medical clinics in war torn areas (which gives a clue about the contents if the book), but i guess i've given up on that as i'd probably get locked up quickly for practicing medicine without a licence! But we'll see!
i've been reading lot's of books lately, mostly i guess because i don't have wi-fi where i'm staying at my Mum's, so i'm not watching Netflix as i only have a limited amount of data on my phone.
There is a very good library in the town though and i'm making good use of it, reading about 3 books per week.
i've also been collecting quite a lot of books from charity shops but saving them for when i return to #Atmanna in #Bulgaria. i received a new passport last week so i can return when i wish, but i expect that will be at least another month until i've sorted out a carer for Mum.
i bought a year old Asus laptop about 4 years ago when i was in India, but the battery died about 2 years ago so have only been using it when plugged in. That was a pain in the proverbial whenever there was a power cut (not infrequent during bad weather in Bulgaria) as i had at least 2 #cryptomining /staking programs running, and after power cut it would die immediately and take sometimes several hours (and data) to get them back up to date.
Anyway, i bought a new battery from ebay which arrived yesterday. It took about an hour to fit it and clean inside, and i'm happy to say laptop is now working great without needing to be attached to the wall :-)
Yeah, i know, it's Windows. i do intend to switch back to Linux again soon as Privacy is a Human Right and Microsoft sure don't respect #HumanRights!
Anyway, back to books. The previous book which i finished about 3 days ago, yet another excellent one, was The Rooster Bar by John Grisham about 3 students of what turned out to be a scam law school who set up practicing law without a licence. Really good.
Today i used about 6 GB of my valuable data today downloading some episodes from the Absolute Healing docuseries by Johnatan Otto.
