Hey, internet folks, how's it going? Today I wanted to do a second installment of “My Favorite Literary Characters,” so since I have more to share, I'm writing this post.

We'll start with my favorite series, which has two of my favorite characters: Tom Riddle and Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter
Empezaremos por mi saga preferida, de la cual tengo dos personajes preferidos: Tom Ryddle y Luna Lovegood de Harry Potter
Tom Riddle
Before he became Lord Voldemort, the mastermind behind the manipulation was Tom Riddle, the model student at Hogwarts. What I find compelling about this phase of the character is that it was his prime—the time when he was hatching his plans, and there was that fine line between his impulses and his caution.
La mente maestra de la manipulación, antes de ser Lord Voldemort, era Tom Riddle, el estudiante modelo de Hogwarts. When we analyze Lord Voldemort, he is a human being—narcissistic, self-centered, cunning, intelligent, and ambitious—yet his narcissism makes him a bit more reckless and prone to taking risks.

Tom Riddle, on the other hand, relied more on manipulation and flattery to get what he wanted, as well as the mystery surrounding him, for example, the stories about him at the orphanage and how he used magic to psychologically torture or intimidate other children—like the time he argued with one, and the next day the child’s rabbit was found dead, hanging by its neck from a ceiling beam. His caregivers suspected him, but there was no way to prove it.
Tom riddle por su parte se valía más de la manipulación y los elogios para obtener lo que quería, además el misterio que lo envuelve, por ejemplo las anecdotas entorno a él en el orfanato y el como usaba la magia para torturar psicologicamente o amedrentar a otros niños como la vez que discutió con uno y al siguiente dia el conejo del niño amaneció mierto colgado del cuello a una viga del techo. Sus cuidadoras sospechaban de el pero no habia manera de probarlo
During his time at Hogwarts, he played down his successes and downplayed their importance to win people’s favor; he realized he could gain more from people’s goodwill than from their fear. With people on his side, he had pawns to manipulate and get what he wanted—like the secret of immortality using Horcruxes, which he coaxed out of Horace Slughorn… He was much more cautious and patient, and this meant that he achieved the greatest accomplishments of his life as a teenager or young adult, which is why I find this stage of his life so fascinating.
En sus días es Hogwarts fue haciendose el modesto cosechando éxitos y quitandoles importancia para ganar la simpatía de l gente, comprendió que sacaba más provecho de la simpatía de la gente que del miedo, con la gente de su lado tenía peones a los que manejar y conseguir lo que quería, como el secreto de la inmortalidad utilizando Horocruxes que le sonsaco a Horace Slughorn… era mucho más precavido y paciente y esto hacia que losmayores logros de su vida los obvituera siendo adolescente o joven adulto y es por eso que me fascina más esta etapa de su vida
Luna Lovegood
The answer to why I love Luna is simple: I really relate to her.
La respuesta a que porque adoro a Luna es sencilla: Me identifico muco con ella.
Luna has a rather unique personality; she’s very sincere and speaks her mind without holding back, though she’s never rude. She gets bullied for her eccentric personality, but she doesn’t let it bother her. She’s extremely intelligent (in fact, she’s in Ravenclaw) and has a very open mind. She’s very kind and always willing to help; in fact, she was the only one who was able to truly comfort Harry when Sirius died.
Luna tiene una personalidad bastante peculiar, es muy sincera, dice las cosas que piensa sin filtro pero sin ser irraspetuosa, le hacen bullying por su personalidad excentrica pero a ella no le importa, es extremadamente inteligente (de hecho su casa es Ravenclaw) y tiene una mente bastante amplia. Es muy tierna y siempre está dispuesta a ayudar, de hecho fue la única que pudo consolar satisfactoriamente a Harry cuando Sirius murió
She is Hermione's counterpart because, although both are very intelligent, Luna is more open to possibilities and myths, while Hermione relies solely on the exact science of magic—or what she considers probable. To put it another way, Luna is more open to hypotheses, whereas Hermione trusts only in theories.
Ella es la contraparte de Hermione porque aunque ambas son muy inteligentes, Luna está más abiertas a posibilidades o mitos y Hermione solo se basa en la ciencia exacta dentro de la magia a o que considera probable, para explicarlo de una mejor manera, Luna está más abierta a las hipotesis mientras que Hermione solo confía en las teorias
A lot of the time, the way I express myself or think makes me feel like the “odd one out” in any social circle. I get along well with people, but so far, only one friend is my equal—she’s the one I feel comfortable with and who doesn’t look at me like I’m weird, even though we have different personalities.
Muchas veces mi forma de expresarme o pensar me hace sentir la “rara” de cualquier circulo social me llevo bien con la gente pero hasta el momento solo una amiga es mi par es con la que me siento comoda y que no me mira como la rara aunque tengamos personalidades diferentes
Sayuri
This is one of my favorite books, *Memoirs of a Geisha*, and Sayuri is the very embodiment of perseverance. She wasn’t born to be a geisha, yet she fought to become one just to achieve her goal: to be by the side of the man she had loved since childhood. Her life, her successes and failures—everything she does for love is admirable, and let’s be honest, it’s also entertaining.
Este es de mis libros preferidos “Memorias de una Geisha” y Sayuri representa el simbolo de la perseverancia, no nació para ser Geisha y peleo por serlo solo para alcanzarsu objetivo: Estar al lado del hombre al que amaba desde niña, su vida y sus aciertos y deshaciertos todo lo que hace por amor es admirable y para que mentir, también entretenido
I like the analogies she draws between nature and herself, such as how having a personality full of “water” made her unstoppable, just like the water in a stream, or how raindrops never stop—Sayuri wouldn’t stop until she achieved her goals. Of course, this was with the help of Mameha, her “big sister,” but Sayuri’s personality is what I like about her—she is very noble and tender, as well as obedient and intelligent, and this leads her to listen to Mameha, who in turn helps her achieve her goals: to become the concubine of her beloved president.
Me gusta las analogias que hace entre la naturaeza y ella, como el tener una personalidad llena de “agua” la hacia una persona imparable, tal como el agua de un arrollo, o las gotas de lluvia no paran, Sayuri no paraba hasta alcanzar sus objetios, esto claro con la ayuda de Mameha su “hermana mayor” pero la personalidad de Sayuri es lo que me gusta de ella, es muy noble y tierna además de obediente e inteligente y esto le lleva a hacerle caso a Mameha la que a su vez la ayuda a obtener sus objetivos, ser la concubina de su amado presidente
I like her because of her sweet personality and her perseverance, as well as how she’s evolved from being impulsive to becoming more thoughtful and intelligent—she’s become one of my favorite characters
Me gusta por su personalidad tierna y su perseverancia, también su evolución como pasó de ser impulsiva a ser más precabida e inteligente y volviendose uno de mis personajes preferidos
