Hey internet people! How are you? Today I want to talk to you about a very interesting topic. Who among you hasn't felt a real attraction to a literary character? As we read a good story, it's inevitable to idealize a specific character; perhaps their physical description, the way they speak, or their overall personality can generate a lot of attraction. So in this post, I want to share with you my three literary crushes and why I like them so much.
¡Hola gente de internet! ¿Cómo están? Hoy quiero hablarles de un tema muy interesante. ¿Quién de ustedes no ha sentido una verdadera atracción por un personaje literario? A medida que leemos una buena historia es inevitable idealizar algún personaje en especifico, quizá su descripción física, la manera en que habla o su personalidad en general nos puede generar muchísima atracción, así que en esta publicación quiero compartir con ustedes cuales son mis tres crushes literarios y porqué me agradan tanto.
Severus Snape
Perhaps for many of you this character might seem extremely unpleasant, right? And while Alan Rickman brought a touch of personal elegance to his portrayal on screen, the character Rowling describes in the books has very particular physical features that might not be considered attractive (yellow teeth, greasy hair, hooked nose). Personality-wise, he's often described as arrogant and unfair, never missing an opportunity to annoy Potter or terrorize Neveille Longbottom. However, what attracts me to this character are many other things, such as his cunning, his skill in double-crossing, his ability to infiltrate Voldemort's ranks and make him believe he truly serves him loyally, his intelligence (which consistently proved to be far superior to the best wizards of his time), and his capacity for innovation without boasting (like the spells he invented and perfected). He moves in the shadows unnoticed because he doesn't seek to glorify himself, but his most beautiful quality is his tremendous capacity to love intensely and, above all, Always. 😍
Quizá para muchos de ustedes este personaje podría resultar extremadamente desagradable, ¿cierto? Y es que a pesar de que Alan Rickman le dio un toque de elegancia personal a su interpretación en el cine, el personaje descrito por Rowling en los libros físicamente tiene rasgos muy particulares que podrían no ser atractivos (dientes amarillos, cabello grasoso, nariz ganchuda) y en cuanto a personalidad se refiere, más bien es descrito como alguien arrogante e injusto que no pierde oportunidad para molestar a Potter o aterrorizar a Neveille Longbottom, sin embargo lo que me atrae de este personaje son muchas otras cosas como su astucia, la destreza que tiene para realizar doble espionaje, para infiltrarse en las filas de Voldemort y hacerle creer que realmente le sirve con lealtad, también me atrae su inteligencia con la cuál demostró siempre estar muy por encima de los mejores magos de su época, su capacidad para innovar sin hacer alarde (como los hechizos que inventó y o perfeccionó) Él se mueve entre las sombras sin que nadie lo note porque no pretende vanagloriarse, pero su cualidad más hermosa es su tremenda capacidad para amar intensamente y sobre todo para Siempre 😍
Mr Darcy
Like Severus Snape, Mr. Darcy has a very peculiar personality; he doesn't try to please everyone, which is why he might seem arrogant, and perhaps he is, but above all else he is sincere and doesn't seek anyone's approval. His biggest flaw, as those who have read Jane Austen's work already know, is prejudice, and that's perhaps what makes me hesitate a little, because I don't like prejudiced people. But on the other hand, I analyze his other qualities and I'm completely won over. For example, he knows how to be romantic when he wants to be, he's elegant, and he knows very well how to choose his words. How can I forget, for example, that iconic line with which he completely charmed me and Elizabeth Bennet?: "You have bewitched me body and soul, and I love you, love you, love you." This shows that he evolved to the point of getting rid of his fears to openly accept his feelings. 😍 😍 He knows how to value true love, he knows how to fight for it. Darcy is definitely the one responsible for my high standards when it comes to men, haha 😄.
Al igual que Severus Snape, el Señor Darcy tiene una personalidad muy peculiar, no pretende caerle bien a todo el mundo, por eso podría parecer arrogante, y quizá lo es, pero sobre todas las cosas es sincero y no busca la aprobación de nadie. Su mayor defecto, tal como ya deben saber los que leyeron la obra de Jane Austen, es el prejuicio, y es lo que quizá me hace dudar un poco, porque no me gusta la gente prejuiciosa, pero por otra lado analizo sus otras cualidades y caigo rendida, por ejemplo, sabe ser romántico cuando se lo propone, es elegante y sabe muy bien como elegir sus palabras, ¿Cómo olvidar por ejemplo esa icónica frase con la que terminó flechándome y también a Elizabeth Bennet?: "Me ha hechizado usted en cuerpo y alma, y la amo, la amo, la amo” Esto demuestra que él evolucionó hasta el punto de deshacerse de sus miedos para aceptar con toda franqueza sus sentimientos 😍 😍 él sabe valorar el amor de verdad, sabe luchar por él, definitivamente Darcy es el culpable de mis altos estándares en materia de hombres, jaja 😄.
Colonel Brandom
Another wonderful character from the great Jane Austen. How can you not idealize this man? His charm, his elegance, and his altruism make him a perfect character to steal your heart. He loves Marianne, but his love isn't possessive; on the contrary, he only wants to see her happy, and that's why he does everything to put a smile on her face, even knowing that she's truly head over heels for Willoughby. Brandon knew how to be close to Marianne without invading her space; he was always protective of her and, in fact, was a key figure in saving her life when necessary. He never expected anything in return because his love was sincere. He was never arrogant or prejudiced; on the contrary, he valued the simple things in life, like wildflowers and the preciousness of a tender smile. So, God, I love him! 😍
Otro maravilloso personaje de la gran Jane Austen ¿Cómo no idealizar a este hombre? Su garbo, su elegancia y su altruismo lo vuelven un personaje perfecto para arrancar suspiros. Él ama a Marianne, pero su amor no es posesivo, al contrario, solo quiere verla feliz y por eso hace de todo por poner en su rostro una sonrisa, incluso sabiendo que ella realmente se moría por Willoughby. Brandom supo estar cerca de Marianne sin invadir su espacio, siempre fue protector con ella y de hecho fue una pieza clave para salvarle la vida cuando fue necesario. Él nunca esperó nada a cambio porque su amor era sincero, nunca fue arrogante ni prejuicioso, al contrario, valoraba las cosas simples de la vida, como las flores silvestres y el valor de una tierna sonrisa, así que ¡Dios, lo amo 😍!
