Luego de tener varias propuestas y hacer un análisis me he decidido por El lobo estepario de Hermann Hesse, un libro que me leí hace varios años cuando estaba comenzando la universidad, es un libro que está en la biblioteca de mi casa de un regalo que le habían hecho a mi padre cuando él estaba en la universidad. Decidí leerlo porque había escuchado nombrarlo y con buenas criticas. Ya me había leído Siddhartha, otra de las novelas de Hesse y me había gustado muchísimo y luego supe que El lobo estepario era su obra cumbre y muchos la consideraban una autobiografía.

After having several proposals and making an analysis I have decided on Der Steppenwolf by Hermann Hesse, a book that I read several years ago when I was starting university, it is a book that is in my home library from a gift that they had made my father when he was in college. I decided to read it because I had heard it named and with good reviews. I had already read Siddhartha, another of Hesse's novels and I had liked it very much and then I learned that The Steppe Wolf was his masterpiece and many considered it an autobiography.
A pesar de que éste libro ya posee una película he pensado es merecedora de una nueva versión ¿por qué? Pues la película que hay y la cual recomiendo ver luego de leerse el libro, es de 1974, cuando la ví me dejó un mal sabor de boca, pensé ¿es esta la única película que hay sobre este gran libro? La película tiene sus méritos pues hacer una película de un escritor ganador de un nobel de literatura no es nada fácil creo que por esa parte ya dice mucho del director pues sabía iba a ser objeto de criticas severas por parte de los seguidores de éste gran escritor.
La película realizada por Fred Haines quien también fué el guionista., A pesar de que tiene un muy buen actor principal Max von Sydow, los actores secundarios creo no estuvieron a la altura. Cuando leí la reseña del film decía usaba técnicas innovadoras en efectos especiales y de verdad creo que en realidad la opaca y hacen verla un tanto cómica y hasta ridícula.
Se nota que trabajaron con bajo presupuesto cosa que me parece un tanto molesto, debido a que se trataba de una de las obras mas emblemáticas de un escritor reconocido. La película se centra en mas del cincuenta por ciento en el final del libro, usando animaciones, con una musicalización pobre cuando el protagonista principal era una persona de gustos finos en lo que respecta a música clásica, colocan a un Goethe como un enano, un personaje histriónico. Para mí una pobre adaptación que debería considerarse para una nueva versión o remake.

The film focuses on more than fifty percent at the end of the book, using animations, with a poor musicalization when the main protagonist was a person of fine tastes when it comes to classical music, they place a Goethe as a dwarf, a histrionic character. For me a poor adaptation that should be considered for a new version or remake.
