I have read really amazing books and to be very honest, some just stands out. They are hard to forget and definitely makes me feel a thing whenever I think of them. I have two of these type of books that are really dear to me. I’m sure more than these two books I am about to talk about have definitely made me cry. However, these ones are just unforgettable, for real.
The first is : THE LAST LINE, BY AZZURRA BERTONCINI ✨

This was a story of Yasmin, a plus-sized young woman with crazy insecurities. She had this friend who was very beautiful and had that dreamy body every guy drools over. She was never comfortable in her skin, and decided to go on a never-ending diet which later killed her😭.Yasmin was my favorite character in this book, I wished I could enter the book and tell her how smart, beautiful and perfect she was. At the same time, I knew she wouldn’t listen because she never saw herself as those things, telling her wouldn’t be enough to convince her.
Even when she was getting really lean, she never saw it whenever she looked into the mirror. Every single time, she always sees a fat, ugly, insecure, sad and scared little girl. She has always been body shammed and almost everyone that comes in contact with her always had a thing or two to say about her body. It was a very sad book, and the part she dropped a letter for her mom was the most heartbreaking part for me.
I read this book for the first time in 2017, and I felt totally in love with it. It shattered my heart into pieces but I always made my love for the book known. I borrowed it at the time and I had to give it back. I was later gifted a new one by a friend, but then, I borrowed someone and they never gave it back. I also forgot the person I borrowed, so it made it harder to track. I have asked so many online bookstores for it but all of them told me they do not have and can’t get it. I really wish to have the hardcover of the book again🥹
If you know how I can get this book, do share please🙏
The second book is : IT ENDS WITH US, BY COLLEEN HOOVER

This was a story of Lily and Ryle, a very beautiful love story who turned sour later on. Lily came from a home where her dad always abused her mom and she had vowed to never let history repeat itself with her. She also had this guy she really liked as a young girl(Atlas), that she lost contact with but had always been in love with. She kept all their memories; the letters, the gifts, etc.
When she met Ryle (A Neurosurgeon), they were madly in love and things were going smoothly until one day, when he pushed her out of anger. He realized his mistake almost immediately and apologized sincerely, promising it would never happen again. She decided to give him another chance, but it happened again (Worse, this time) when he found out she kept memories from her Atlas.
Ryle was a very sweet guy and I really loved them together, but honestly, there’s no excuse that can justify what he did. He had anger issues and couldn’t handle his heartbreak well. It’s a must read, but just make sure you have your handkerchief right beside you. Lily had to break off the marriage, hence, the title of the book. She couldn’t forgive what he did, especially because of the kind of home she came from. The part where they broke apart made me cry so much, they were meant to be perfect together, but just couldn’t be.
The book was too heartbreaking, I couldn’t bring myself to read the end until after months. It even hit deeper when I realized it was a story inspired by the true life story of the writer’s mom. I heard they are making it into a movie, I am hoping they would do justice to the castings. This book is actually very famous, you must have come across it or read it.
If I’d ever have to choose a favorite character from this book, it would be Ryle’s sister. She was a friend to Lily and a very good one at that. She was brutally and completely honest with her. My favorite quote in the book is ’There’s no such thing as bad people, we are all just people who sometimes do bad things’
SO, HAVE YOU READ ANY OF THE TWO? DID THEY MAKE YOU FEEL THE SAME WAY?
