Es maravilloso porque todos conocemos quién ha sido la inspiración por que éste autor crease semejantes obras, Howard Phillips Lovecraft, el padre del terror cósmico, de aquello que simplemente no se puede ni siquiera describir.
En ésta ocasión les mostraré de forma resumida mi top 3 de libros de Stephen King.

La primera novela publicada de King, en 1974, fue también la primera obra que leí de él. Mi acercamiento a éste autor fue pura casualidad, entre dar vueltas por las ferias de libros que algunas veces hacían en la ciudad de Caracas, hubo un libro de él que llamó completamente mi atención por su argumento el fanatismo religioso y la telequinesis.
¿Podrían dos temas que se encuentran en polos extremadamente opuestos converger en una obra y encajar?
Y para mi sorpresa la respuesta fue si, Carrie se convierte en una lectura atrapante y rápida comparado con otras obras del autor como lo es It. Empatizar con nuestra protagonista es cosa de pocos capítulos y el desarrollo de la historia es fantástico. ¿Cómo pasar de la calma a la tormenta extrema en un mismo libro?
La capacidad que tiene el autor de mantenerte de forma continua en la lectura es admirable y, Carrie se convierte en un libro que te deja pensando durante mucho tiempo sobre la psique humana, la humanidad y la religión en sí.
Y es bueno admitir que intenté con todas mis fuerzas sacar mi fuerza de telequinesis para servirme el cereal, como Matilda.

Coloco un gif de la película de Kubrick pese a que ésta no es fiel al libro y King la odia, pero debemos admitir que es una muy buena película.
En la navidad del año 2018 me regalaron en un ''amigo secreto'' El Resplandor y, aunque anteriormente ya había leído bastante ya sobre King, nunca había encontrado espacio para ésta novela.
Éste libro me trajo pesadillas por el simple hecho de pensar que un espacio físico pudiese tener la capacidad de manipularte a tal punto como lo fue con Jack Torrance y, no sólo él, sino su familia, aunque el punto más afectado siempre fue Jack.
Cabe destacar que Wendy en el libro no es tan débil e indefensa como se muestra en la película, pero ya sabemos que la adaptación en su personaje es para generar ansiedad en el público.
Creo que ésta es de las novelas que más me ha costado leer por el terror psicológico que aplica King en cada capítulo.

Hemos llegado al punto fuerte de mi top, Cementerio de Mascotas no me dejó dormir por dos noches seguidas.
¿Cómo le puedo tener miedo inclusive hasta a un gato? Embarcarse en la locura en la cuál se ve envuelto Louis es como volverse loco uno mismo.
King cumple con su cometido al 100% en ésta novela, el terror no puede evadirse. Incluso llega un punto en el que te ves a ti mismo cuestionando si de igual manera tomarías las mismas decisiones que Louis ¿será posible lograr traer a alguien de vuelta? y de ser así ¿cuáles serían las verdaderas consecuencias?
Debo reconocer dos cosas, la primera es que el libro es maravilloso, la segunda es que el terror que transmite es para valientes.
Yo leí ésta novela a gran velocidad sólo porque mi cerebro no podía aguantar con prolongar ese miedo durante varios días, también porque tiene ese je ne sais quoi que no te deja despegarte del libro.
También por muchas noches le tuve miedo a mi perro (what?) hahahaha.
We have reached the highlight of my top, Pet Sematery kept me awake for two nights in a row.
How can I even be afraid of a cat? Embarking on the madness in which Louis is involved is like going mad yourself.
King delivers 100% in this novel, the terror can't be avoided. There even comes a point where you find yourself questioning whether you would make the same decisions as Louis, would it be possible to bring someone back, and if so, what would be the real consequences?
I must admit two things, the first is that the book is wonderful, the second is that the terror it conveys is for the brave.
I read this novel at high speed only because my brain could not stand to prolong that fear for several days, also because it has that je ne sais quoi that does not let you detach from the book.
Also for many nights I was afraid of my dog (what?) hahahaha.
