Hello friends, I hope you are all doing well. I'm fine too. My desire to learn something new has led me to a book that tells us about human history – how humans were born on this earth, how they evolved, and how they rule the earth today.
The name of this book is "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind." This book was written by Yuval Noah Harari. In this book, Harari has given a brief description of human history.
Friends, doesn't it ever occur to you that only one species of human lives on Earth, or are there other species as well? We are accustomed to thinking of ourselves as the only humans because for the last 10,000 years, our species has indeed been the only human species. But the actual meaning of the word "human" is a creature belonging to the genus Homo, and this genus had many species besides Homo sapiens, such as Homo rudolfensis, Homo erectus, and Homo neanderthalensis. Along with these species, there were many other species that were similar to humans. The first human evolution occurred approximately 2.5 million years ago in East Africa from an early genus of apes called Australopithecus, which means "southern ape."
So, friends, you might be wondering where all these other species of the genus Homo went. According to Yuval Noah Harari, there are many reasons. For example, when Sapiens encountered other species, there may have been violent conflicts over resources, and Sapiens, due to their superior warfare skills and larger group size, may have wiped them out. Another possibility is that Sapiens interbred with all the other species, and they gradually merged. Evidence of Neanderthal and Denisovan DNA has been found in modern humans, which supports this theory.
They went through three revolutionary turning points in history: the Cognitive Revolution, the Agricultural Revolution, and the Scientific Revolution. These three revolutions together laid the foundation of human society.
Friends, I will need some time to finish reading the book so that I can properly understand the history of humankind. And if I can explain it to you as well, I will share the further knowledge from the book in my next post.
Thank you for viewing and reading this post.
