Hello my dear friends of the Hive Book Club community! My name is Evelyn and this is my first post here. This time I am going to tell you about our visit to the most beautiful bookstore in Buenos Aires.
We went with Micol (my girlfriend) with the idea of trying to get a book that the Grandma of the family has been recommending to us, it's called the kybalion by William Walker Atkinson. In each Meeting in which we meet, she always reminds us that we have to read that book and since we were passing through here, we decided to go in to see how much she was.
Not only could we not get it, but we also had the pleasure of buying anything, because our economy at that time did not allow it, we took advantage of the time to see and read each book that we found, in addition to being able to go all over the place above down.
This bookstore is well known, it is a tourist destination in the city. And it's called:

Hola mis queridos amigos de la comunidad Hive Book Club!Me llamo Evelyn y este es mi primer post aquí. En esta oportunidad voy a contarles sobre nuestra visita por la librería más linda de Buenos Aires.
Fuimos con Micol (mi novia) con la idea de tratar de conseguir un libro que nos viene recomendando la Abu de la familia, se llama el kybalion de William Walker Atkinson. En cada Reunión en la que nos encontramos, ella siempre nos recuerda que tenemos que leer ese libro y como estábamos de pasada por acá, decidimos entrar a ver cuanto estaba.
No solo no lo pudimos conseguir si no que tampoco nos dimos el gusto de comprar nada, porque nuestra economía en ese momento no lo permitía, aprovechamos el tiempo para ver y leer cada libro que nos encontrábamos, además de que pudimos recorrer todo el lugar de arriba abajo.
Esta libreria es muy conocida, es un destino turístico de la ciudad. Y se llama:

It is located in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Recoleta - Buenos Aires. Luckily for us, it is quite close to where we live, so we took the opportunity to get to know it since we had never done it before.
We went late and that allowed us to be able to explore it calmly since there were not many people in the place. It has quite flexible hours, as it is open from 12 noon to 10 pm at night.
As soon as you enter the place, you are really shocked at how beautiful and huge it is.
There are four floors, one more beautiful than the other.
Está ubicada en el barrio porteño de Recoleta - Buenos Aires. Para nuestra suerte, está bastante cerca de donde nosotras vivimos, entonces aprovechamos a conocerla ya que nunca antes lo habíamos hecho.
Fuimos tarde y eso nos permitió poder recorrerla tranquilas ya que no había mucha gente en el lugar. Tiene un horario bastante flexible, pues está abierta desde las 12 del mediodía hasta las 22hs de la noche.
Apenas se ingresa al lugar, realmente uno queda impactado de lo hermosa y enorme que es.
Son cuatro pisos, uno más lindo que otro.
The truth is that I thought it was set in a kind of theater but it turned out that, after talking with one of the employees; I found out that before it was actually a cinema and theater. Only in the year 2000 was it opened as a bookstore. To do this, they tried to leave all the architecture and decoration of the original theater. They did not change absolutely anything and they plan to keep it that way.
Observe in the following photo how the boxes looked before. Currently they are the same, cared for and super clean. It almost doesn't seem like time has passed this place.
La verdad es que creí que estaba ambientada en una especie de teatro pero resultó que, luego de conversar con una de las empleadas; me enteré que antes efectivamente era un cine y teatro. Recién en el año 2000 se inauguró como librería. Para ello, trataron de dejarle toda la arquitectura y decoración del teatro original. No le cambiaron absolutamente nada y así piensan mantenerla.
Observen en la siguiente foto como se veían los palcos antes. Actualmente están iguales, cuidados y super limpios. Casi que no pareciera que el tiempo pasó por este lugar.
It's nice that they can keep it original because it really is very beautiful and very interesting. In the part where the stage would be, it is now a coffee shop but I couldn't take pictures of it. The point is that in addition to buying and reading a book that we like, in this place we can sit down and enjoy a delicious snack.
Da gusto que puedan mantenerla con su originalidad porque realmente es muy hermosa y muy interesante. En la parte donde sería el escenario ahora es una tienda de café pero no pude sacarle fotos. La cuestión es que además de comprar y leer algún libro que nos agrade, en este lugar podemos sentarnos y disfrutar de una deliciosa merienda.
In the center of the place, if we look up, we see that there is a dome with an oil painting painted in 1919. It was made as a celebration after the end of the First World War.
En el centro del lugar, si miramos hacia arriba, vemos que hay una cúpula con una pintura pintada al óleo e 1919. La cual se realizó en forma de celebración tras finalizar la Primer Guerra Mundial.
And last but not least, in the basement of the bookstore there is a whole beautiful area for the little ones. all set
like a zoo for them to enjoy and interact with both books and games.
Y por último y no menos importante, en el subsuelo de la librería hay todo un sector hermoso para los más pequeños. Todo ambientado
como un zoológico para que ellos disfruten e interactúen tanto con libros como con juegos.
What connects between the middle floor and the basement are two huge escalators in the middle of the hall, surrounded by more and more books.
Lo que conecta entre el piso central y el subsuelo, son dos escaleras mecánicas enormes en medio del salón, rodeadas por más y más libros.
Without hesitation I would go again! I forgot to mention that there are not only books. But there are also movies, CD's, vinyl and even toys.
Hopefully if one day you are lucky enough to visit Buenos Aires, you can take a little time to visit this bookstore.
Sin dudarlo volvería a ir! Me olvidé de mencionar que no solo hay libros. Sino que también hay películas, CD's, vinilos y hasta juguetes.
Ojalá si algún día tienen la suerte de visitar Buenos Aires, se puedan tomar un tiempito para visitar esta librería.
