I personally believe that the public library of the first world will undoubtedly involve virtual reality and augmented reality in its experience.
I say the first world because I really doubt that public libraries in countries like Venezuela (where I live) in 10 years will achieve a breakthrough, I hope I'm not right and I'm wrong about that, but let's get to the heart of the matter at hand this time.
With the pandemic because of Covid-19, many museums opened their doors "virtually speaking" and no matter where you were, from anywhere in the world with internet access you could watch, visit these famous museums like for example the "Louvre" museum from your home or wherever you were.
Undoubtedly, we will bring this to the public libraries of the world but with a plus, not only to integrate virtual reality into our libraries but to go a step further and integrate augmented reality. I also believe that thanks to globalization we can say that borders are becoming even more fictitious than they already were, we are citizens of the world and we will become more and more so. Now, with what has been said so far, I can tell you that I imagine the public library in this way:
All homes will have a device that will consist of two parts, a kind of glasses with headphones and a book with blank pages, this would be the external components of what will be the new "global library". Anyone who puts on the "glasses" will not only be able to visit any library in the world but will also be able to interact with the library.
If there is one thing we readers know, it is that reading is not just turning pages, looking at letters, and eating paragraphs, we know that reading is an experience, and the new "Global Library" promises to give that experience in full. So by putting on the glasses, you will be able to visit the aisles, look at the shelves with hundreds and hundreds of texts, with the headphones you will be able to listen to that silent sound that characterizes libraries, and while you virtually walk the aisles, look at the section you were longing for, walk towards it, stop right in front of the book you were looking for. You pick it up (this is where the blank book we own comes into play) and the augmented reality device we own projects the contents of the book you have selected from the library onto the blank book.
You sit in the comfort of your home, and thanks to the augmented reality you not only get to read what you have set out to read, but you also have that experience of turning the pages of the book as you move through the reading.

Although now it is just a dream, I know that sooner rather than later we will reach such a point, it will certainly have its pros and cons, but it will be part of our human experience, which is unquestionably thrown into the future. We live in a constant looking forward, and that is precisely what has made us able to grow and progress, with more mistakes than successes, but each experience has fed us to the point of advancing at a steady pace, or at least that is what I want to believe and today my dream is the universality and democratization of knowledge and access to knowledge. That is why I felt very enthusiastic about this contest.

Hoy he dedicado mi atención y mi imaginación en la propuesta de este concurso, me he puesto largos ratos a imaginar la biblioteca pública del mañana, de este modo quiero participar y responder a la pregunta ¿Cómo será la biblioteca pública dentro de 10 años?
Personalmente creo que indudablemente la biblioteca pública del primer mundo involucrará en su experiencia la realidad virtual y la realidad aumendada.
Digo primer mundo porque en realidad dudo que las bibliotecas públicas de países como Venezuela (donde vivo) en 10 años logren un gran avance, espero no tener razón y estar equivocado al respecto, pero vamos al meollo de la cuestión que nos ocupa en esta ocasión.
Con la pandemía a causa del Covid-19 muchos museos abrieron sus puertas "virtualmente hablando" y sin importar tu ubicación, desde cualquier lugar en el mundo con acceso a internet podías mirar, visitar estos museos famosos como por ejemplo el museo de "Louvre" desde tu casa o donde sea que estuvieses.
Sin duda, llevaremos esto a las bibliotecas publicas del mundo pero con un plus, no solo integrar la realidad virtual a nuestras bibliotecas, sino dar un paso más allá e integrar la realidad aumentada. Creo además que gracias a la globlalización podemos decirnos que las fronteras cada vez se vuelven aun más ficticias de lo que ya eran, somos ciudadanos del mundo y cada vez lo seremos con más fuerza. Ahora bien, con lo dicho hasta ahora puedo decirte que yo imagino a la biblioteca pública de este modo:
Todos los hogares dispondran de un dispositivo que constará de dos partes, una especie lentes con audiculares y un libro con las hojas en blanco, esto sería los componentes externos de lo que será la nueva "biblioteca global". Toda persona al colocarse los "lentes" podrá no solo visitar cualquier biblioteca del mundo sino que podrá interactuar con la biblioteca.
Si algo sabemos los lectores es que la lectura no solo es pasar hojas, mirar letras y comer párrafos, sabemos que la lectura es una experiencia, y la nueva "Biblioteca global" promete dar tal experiencia por completo. De modo que al colocarte los lentes podrás visitar los pasillos, mirar los estantes con los cientos y cientos de textos, con los audiculares podrás escuchar ese sonido silencioso que caracteriza a las bibliotecas, y mientras recorres virtualmente los pasillos, observas las sección que tanto anhelabas, caminas hacía ella, te detienes justo frente al libro que deseabas. Lo tomas (aquí entra en juego el libro en blanco que poseemos) y el dispositivo de realidad aumentada que poseemos, proyecta en el libro en blanco el contenido del libro que has seleccionado de la biblioteca.
Te sientas en la comodidad de tu hogar, y gracias a la realidad aumentada no solo logras leer lo que te has propuesto leer, sino que además tienes esa experiencia de pasar las páginas del libro mientras avanzas en la lectura.
Así que gracias a esta tecnología, un día podrías visitar la biblioteca de Londres y otro día podrías visitar la biblioteca nacional del congreso de los EEUU, sin salir de la comodidad de tu hogar, además podrías visitar cualquier biblioteca del mundo a cualquier hora del día. No tendrás obstáculo alguno para visitar estas bibliotecas, solo necesitás conección a internet, ya que cada biblioteca tendrá su servidor al cual podrás conectarte cuando lo desees.
Imagino la biblioteca pública del futuro. Creo que de ese modo, haríamos aun mas universal el conocimiento, y democratizariamos el saber, o mejor dicho, el acceso al conocimiento, solo necesitarias tener conexión a internet y el dispositivo mediante el cual podrás tener acceso.
Aunque ahora sea solo un sueño, sé que más temprano que tarde llegaremos a tal punto, ciertamente tendrá sus pro y sus contra, pero será parte de nuestra experiencia humana, que indiscutiblemente esta arrojada hacia el futuro. Vivimos en un constante mirar hacia adelnate, y precisamente eso es lo que nos ha hecho capaces de crecer y de progresar, con más errores que aciertos, pero que cada experiencia nos ha alimentado al punto de avanzar a un ritmo constante, o por lo menos eso es lo que quiero creer y hoy mi sueño es la universalidad y democratizacíon del conocimiento y del acceso al conocimiento. Por esa razón fue que me sentí muy entusiasmado con este concurso.
