Saludos a todos los miembros de la comunidad, ¿cómo están? Dentro de las constantes que ha supuesto mi vida universitaria durante un largo tiempo, la necesidad de usar el transporte público, principalmente el metro, impulsó la búsqueda de libros edición de bolsillo que me ayudaran a despejar la mente de esos trayectos que me consumían el alma. Paseando por la gran oferta que ofrecía el pasillo de los libros de mi universidad, me conseguí este que me hizo tener una perspectiva de la vida un tanto distinta profundizando en la idea de cómo esta es percibida, con razonamientos que van incluso a la filosofía de la existencia del ser humano. Este autor, Albert Camus, se tiene como una de las grandes figuras literarias de la mano del existencialismo que podremos encontrar de manera evidente dentro de ‘El Extranjero’ que es la obra de la cual quiero hablarles en esta oportunidad.
Greetings to all members of the community, how are you? Within the constants of my university life for a long time, the need to use public transportation, mainly the subway, prompted the search for pocket edition books that would help me to clear my mind of those journeys that consumed my soul. Strolling through the great offer offered by the book aisle of my university, I got this one that made me have a somewhat different perspective of life, deepening the idea of how it is perceived, with reasoning that goes even to the philosophy of the existence of human beings. This author, Albert Camus, is one of the great literary figures of the hand of existentialism that we can find in an evident way in 'The Stranger' which is the work I want to talk about in this opportunity.
Es una obra corta que nos presenta a un Monsieur Meursault haciendo de personaje principal único cuya esencia dependerá de la óptica de cada uno de los lectores. La mayoría de las personas con las cuales he hablado sobre esta obra no comparten mi opinión respecto a este hombre que, debido a cómo afronta las diferentes circunstancias que se le van presentando, pareciera que no se gana la simpatía del lector que se suma al grupo de personas que lo juzgan y critican. Respecto a esto, siempre me al protagonista se le ha tratado injustamente, siendo que cada ser humano tiene su forma de ser con independencia de que ciertas reacciones ante determinadas situaciones, sean las consideradas como normales por ser aquellas que se presenten con mayor frecuencia como llorar ante la muerte de un ser querido.
It is a short work that presents us with Monsieur Meursault as a unique main character whose essence will depend on each reader's point of view. Most of the people with whom I have talked about this work do not share my opinion about this man who, due to the way he faces the different circumstances that are presented to him, does not seem to win the sympathy of the reader who joins the group of people who judge and criticize him. In this regard, I have always felt that the protagonist has been treated unfairly, since every human being has his own way of being, regardless of the fact that certain reactions to certain situations are considered normal because they are those that occur most frequently, such as crying at the death of a loved one.
¿Por qué no hacerlo tendría que suponer un problema? Están las reacciones usuales y aquellas que aunque no son comunes no tendrían por qué tener necesariamente un significado negativo. Para mí, la obra se muestra interesante no sólo debido a que a través de los acontecimientos que muestra y el personaje principal al que le da vida seremos invitados a entrar en cuestionamientos profundos, sino porque por el espacio que deja a la interpretación alrededor de estos, por eso, cada persona que la lea, dependiendo de su propia óptima, realizará su propio análisis que podría no ser igual al de los demás, concibiendo su significado y alcance desde una perspectiva distinta que a su manera será acertado… porque sí, pienso que cada opinión es válida aunque no sea la misma que la mía.
Why should not doing so be a problem? There are the usual reactions and those that, although not common, would not necessarily have a negative meaning. For me, the work is interesting not only because through the events it shows and the main character to whom it gives life we will be invited to enter into deep questioning, but because of the space it leaves for interpretation around these, therefore, each person who reads it, depending on their own optimum, will make their own analysis that might not be the same as others, conceiving its meaning and scope from a different perspective that in their own way will be accurate... because yes, I think every opinion is valid even if it is not the same as mine.
No les voy a mentir, no es una lectura para todos puesto que a decir verdad no tiene una trama argumentativa que la mayoría de las personas busquen, se muestra con un ritmo lento, su mayor impacto se encuentra en el aspecto filosófico de los acontecimientos y el desenvolvimiento del personaje principal alrededor de estos, no se trata en sí de lo que sucede sino cómo lo asimila Monsieur Meursault para llevarnos a su ritmo durante toda esta travesía literaria. A mí desde un principio me gustó por esto y las situaciones presentadas permiten un debate interno sobre temas como la libertad, la moral, la justicia, en otros de esta índole que me interesan mucho. En el segundo tramo sí podría considerarse de un interés más amplio teniendo en cuenta que suceden hechos impactantes, pero el enfoque seguirá siendo el mismo.
I'm not going to lie to you, it is not a reading for everyone since to tell the truth it does not have a plot that most people are looking for, it is shown with a slow pace, its greatest impact is in the philosophical aspect of the events and the development of the main character around these, it is not about what happens but how Monsieur Meursault assimilates it to take us to his rhythm throughout this literary journey. I liked it from the beginning because of this and the situations presented allow an internal debate on issues such as freedom, morality, justice, in others of this nature that interest me a lot. In the second section it could be considered of a wider interest considering that shocking events happen, but the approach will remain the same.
Esta historia en apariencia simple de un hombre tratando pues de llevar su vida de la manera en la que se siente cómodo aunque sea intrascendental en donde las interacciones con el mundo se sienten ajenas, a través de las circunstancias en las cuales se encuentra involucrado nuestro protagonista principal, incluyendo un hecho inadvertido con consecuencias importantes, termina siendo sorpresivamente interesante. Además, esta obra es considerada a nivel internacional como un clásico de la literatura, así que valdría la pena darle una oportunidad aunque sea para decir que se leyó en algún momento y quizás aunque no pueda apreciarse por completo después de esa lectura de reconocimiento, pasados unos cuantos años en una segunda lectura pueda dársele una mayor significación que resulte más agradable.
This seemingly simple story of a man trying to lead his life the way he feels comfortable even if it is inconsequential where interactions with the world feel alien, through the circumstances in which our main protagonist finds himself involved, including an inadvertent event with important consequences, ends up being surprisingly interesting. In addition, this work is considered internationally as a classic of literature, so it would be worth giving it a chance if only to say that it was read at some point and perhaps even if it cannot be fully appreciated after that reading of recognition, after a few years in a second reading it can be given a greater significance that is more enjoyable.
