I'm ok with books or films although I feel like in the 2000's to 2020 they went too far with it just like they did with the zombie genre. I think the pinnacle of the silliness with vamps was a show called True Blood that started out ok but then they just got stupider and stupider until I actually started to resent them for making them. I really enjoyed Interview with a Vampire in both book and film form but I can't really think of any other examples where I have read and seen both.
On the flip side I find the classic Dracula book to be terribly boring but since it was such a novel idea at the time I understand why it was sound ground-breaking at the time of it's release however long ago that was.
