While walking in the big and confusing mall of Siam Paragon in Bangkok, we came across this huge bookstore called 'Kinokuniya' and apparently it's a big book store chain. You won't notice that it's that huge outside but when you get in the store GEEZ you will be in for a surprise.
Ha, even in Thai you will know what book this is. Even if you forgot the title, you can just ask any staff and be like "I'm looking for a book... Orange." and they'll know what you're talking about.
Also I forgot I was in Bangkok so most books are in Thai but they have a dedicated English section which was nice.
They have a lot of manga here, being a Japanese book store, it is a bit expected haha.
Nice so you don't have to go around the bookstore looking for answers about your weird sleep!
I walked around the huge-ass bookstore and still couldn't find the art books until I went to the farthest side and realized I almost thought they didn't have any but it's actually because they have their own big-ass art section!!! You see the end of the pic? It's all art until there. There's fine art, fashion design, graphic design, photography, street art, etc etc. Bruh. It has everything.
I was so excited especially when I got to the fine art section.
They have a lot of great artists biography and work collections. Even though there's internet for that, it's still a lot nicer to have a whole book about the artist with pictures of their works so you don't have to look for it on the internet.
In this section, they have a really nice view of the Bangkok skyline facing the CentralWorld.
They have a lot of art history books which is really helpful for artists.
I spent a lot of time here just trying to decide which books to buy with my limited budget and luggage space. :P
There's also a dedicated section for art techniques if you wanna learn drawing, painting, sculpture, etc. I would've wanted it when I was younger but I still wouldn't be able to buy these cos they're expensive AF hahah.
I know there are lots of videos nowadays on the internet for free and some are paid courses but still it's nice having a physical book. I find myself get distracted so easily when I'm on the computer so sometimes books are better. :P
They have a lot of art theory and composition books as well.
I ended up buying these two and am currently reading them on my "study" time. I'm really interested in psychoanalysis topics so it's nice to find it here.
A little walk around this area and you'll be in the graphic design section where you could find tutorials on making 3d, photography, and I even saw some books about NFTs lol. Really interesting stuff.
On the other side of the store, there's a stationary section as well. They have sketch pads, colored pencils, pens, etc., I stopped myself from looking around too much so I wouldn't be tempted into buying anything I don't need haha.
This place is just perfect for anything books, although it is a bit expensive but you can always take photos of the books you want to buy in the future and just order it online where it's cheaper or something. I enjoyed walking around this store. :D
