Hello friends, today I will talk about one of the psychological thriller books that I liked the most "The Psocoanalyst", it is a written work by the American author John Katzenbach and it was published in 2002, being one of his greatest literary successes.
In this novel the protagonist Dr. Fredrerick Starks is going to test his abilities to avoid his death and face the pressure of an unknown person who threatens to kill his relatives, in this novel he highlights the psychological harshness of his characteristic characters, as well as the ability to achieve a completely intriguing plot.
Hola amigos, hoy les hablare de uno de los libros de thriller psicológico que más me ha gustado “El Psocoanalista”, es una obra de escrita del autor norteamericano John Katzenbach y fue publicada en 2002, siendo uno de sus mayores éxitos literarios.
Esta novela el protagonista Dr. Fredrerick Starks va a poner a prueba sus habilidades para evitar su muerta y enfrentar la presión de un desconocido quien lo amenaza con matar a sus familiares, en esta novela destaca la crudeza psicológica de sus característicos personajes, así como la capacidad de lograr establecer una trama completamente intrigante.
“Happy 53rd birthday, doctor. Welcome to the first day of his death. I belong to some time in his past. You ruined my life. You may not know how why or when, but you did. It filled all my moments with disaster and sadness. He ruined my life. And now I am determined to ruin yours".
Thus begins the novel with this anonymous letter received by Fredrerick Starks, a psychoanalyst with long experience and a quiet daily life. Starks will have to use all his cunning and speed to, in 15 days, find out who is the author of that threatening letter that promises to make life impossible for him.
“Feliz 53 cumpleaños, doctor. Bienvenido al primer día de su muerte. Pertenezco a algún momento de su pasado. Usted arruinó mi vida. Quizá no sepa cómo por qué o cuándo, pero lo hizo. Llenó todos mis instantes de desastre y tristeza. Arruinó mi vida. Y ahora estoy decidido a arruinar la suya”.
Así comienza la novela con esta carta anónima que recibe Fredrerick Starks, psicoanalista con una larga experiencia y una tranquila vida cotidiana. Starks tendrá que emplear toda su astucia y rapidez para, en 15 días, averiguar quién es el autor de esa amenazadora misiva que promete hacerle la existencia imposible.
Dr Frederick Starks is a psychoanalyst who is vaguely exhausted in his profession and who has few pleasures in his life other than routine predictability. Everything suddenly changes with the letter that threatens everyone from him.
Katzenbach shows us a Doctor, with a completely unfriendly character and instills so much suspense in his plight that the reader is not only fascinated with the story, but is obliged to continue, despite the nature of his protagonist.
In each chapter we get to know different aspects of the doctor's life, his social and family relationships, his economic situation, his profession and so on. This is always for the challenges or problems caused by Rumpelstiltskin, the person who wants to end his life.
El Dr Frederick Starks es un psicoanalista que está agotado en su profesión, vagamente y que tiene pocos placeres de su vida aparte de la previsibilidad rutina. Todo cambia repentinamente con la carta que amenaza todo su mundo.
Katzenbach nos muestra un Doctor, con un carácter completamente antipático e infunde tanto suspenso en su difícil situación de que el lector no solo esta fascinado con la historia, sino que está obligado a continuar, a pesar de la naturaleza de su protagonista.
En cada capitulo vamos conociendo diferentes aspectos de la vida del doctor, sus relaciones sociales y familiares, su situación económica, profesión y así. Esto es siempre por los retos o problemas ocasionados por Rumpelstiltskin, la persona que quiere acabar con su vida.
The Psychoanalyst is a modern thriller that clearly transmits human emotions through its protagonists, managing to keep the reader from the beginning of the story until it ends. It is a very well structured plot and an excellent narrative plot, linking certain and certain events with a lot of cunning, intelligence and imagination.
In my opinion The Psychoanalyst, is a representative story of his genre and one of the best of its author, who makes available to the reader an interesting psychological plot with a great deal of realism. If you haven't read it yet, I invite you to enjoy this wonderful book.
El Psicoanalista, es un thriller moderno que transmite de forma clara las emociones humanas a través de sus protagonistas, logrando mantener al lector desde que inicia el relato hasta que culmina. Es una trama muy bien estructurada y excelente argumento narrativo, ligando ciertos y determinados eventos con mucha astucia, inteligencia e imaginación.
En mi opinión El Psicoanalista, es una historia representativa de su genero y una de las mejores de su autor, quien pone a la disposición del lector, una interesante trama psicológica con una gran carga de realismo. Si aun no lo has leído te invito a disfrutar de este maravilloso libro.
