I came to this book on my own. I understood that I spend a lot and often on nonsense or spontaneous purchases based on emotions.
And I found this book and all the answers in it.
The story of a girl who loved to challenge herself. The story of a girl who turned and changed her life. The story of money and how they taught a girl to live.
The heroine paid off a huge loan, lost weight and overcame alcoholism. And then she overcame shopomania.
And while reading, I really often caught myself thinking damn it, it’s elementary and really why I buy some kind of shampoo if I have two more old unfinished ones.
The world of consumerism and its friend marketing dictate the rules to us: you must strive to be beautifully rich and successful, and for this you need to buy buy buy.
On the shelves all the products scream I'm cool take me and so you take one shampoo and then in the store you see another shampoo with a more flashy label and you're just sure that you need it! That you will be happy if your hair shines like a diamond.
And it’s all the same that you end up spending most of your money on things that then clog up your shelves at home, but you could spend money on things that really bring joy or benefit: on travel, on some old dream, on self-realization, on your hobby in the end .
But no . For many people, shopping is a hobby. But we do not understand that this is only our psychological problem.
And I have to think not what I should buy to drown out or fill this something inside, but sit down and think alone with myself: what am I afraid of, what am I running from, what do I want not to feel. Why do I eat this or why do I buy everything I see on the shelves. Usually loneliness is hidden behind this, or a situation that has hit us hard and we are unable to change it, fear of not being beautiful ~ fear of being alone, or even just out of boredom because there is nothing to do (especially with overeating).
Sit down and figure it out with yourself and you will understand a lot, and perhaps stop spending so much money, realize that you would like to do something completely different, change your environment and, as a result, radically change your life.
The heroine of the book came to this. !
This book is not only about money and saving. This is a book about self-love, about the ability to hear your inner voice, about the ability to heal from old psychological traumas.
Can you go a year without shopping? Can !
And you should definitely read this because it is relevant for every person.
