I haven't read this particular book, but what you said about Petra taking ages to get out of a car gave me a preview of pure desperation. It sounds to me like Colleen Hoover tried to delve deeply into the themes of fame and criticism, and ended up rehashing the same three ideas to pad out the pages, which is the last thing you want when you're looking for something with the pace of Verity. You've left me wondering if that 80% turn actually saves the day or if it's just a band-aid solution to keep us from throwing the book out the window.
