I will tell you about the book that started my love for the work of the Ukrainian writer Max Kidruk.
10-12 years ago I was going on a journey. This is usually a chance for me to indulge in reading. I like flipping through a book on the train, distracting myself only to look at the view outside the window. There was not enough time, and therefore there was never any time to carefully choose a book. There was a kind of reading club in a small bookstore in my town. Everyone could bring their own book and get another one for a small fee. At that time, this interesting venture came to naught and the owner decided to sell off the used books. The prices were very symbolic. Among all the proposed romance novels and detective thrillers, one book caught my eye because of the interesting format of the letters with which the author's name is printed. I read the abstract and the first page. It seemed that the text was interesting. That's why she took "Fortress" by Max Kidruk, because of which she almost missed her stop, plunging into an extraordinary story. And then she couldn't wait for the return trip to continue the fascinating reading.
"Fortress" contains everything - adventure, a mysterious story, love, intrigue, danger. All this mixture is peppered with subtle humor. The author reveals to us the unexplored world of the jungle and lifts the veil of the mystery of the Inca city of Paititi. And the youth who fall into a story full of dangers are very smart, creative and modern. I particularly liked one moment. The main character had to discreetly pluck the flowers of a narcotic plant in order to mix them into the food of the intruders. Only he did not expect that the aroma would cause a slight narcotic intoxication.The description of the guy who dreamily hangs on a rock and sings the National Anthem of Ukraine while his friends distract the guards is very funny. There are a lot of such moments in "Tverdyna". In addition, you can learn a lot of new things for yourself: about exotic plants, insects, even about a spray for scaring off a bear (it turns out that such a thing exists!).
I'm writing a post, but I'm already dreaming about re-reading the book. She stirred up memories of this unrealistically interesting story! So, today I will once again start another exciting journey to the Inca city of Paitti with Max Kidruk's "Fortress".

Розповім вам про книгу, з якої розпочалася моя любов до творчості українського письменника Макса Кідрука.
Років 10-12 тому я збиралася в дорогу. Зазвичай для мене це шанс віддатися читанню. Люблю гортати книгу в потягу, відволікаючись лиш на те, щоб виглянути на краєвид за вікном. Часу було мало, а тому прискіпливо обирати книгу було ніколи. В невеличкій книжковій крамничці у моєму містечку був свого роду читацький клуб. Кожен міг принести власну книгу та взяти натомість іншу, доплативши невелику суму. На той час ця цікава затія зійшла нанівець і власниця вирішила розпродати вживані книги. Ціни були дуже символічні. Серед всіх запропонованих любовних романів та детективних трилерів в око впадала одна книга через цікавий формат літер, якими надруковане ім’я автора. Почитала анотацію та першу сторінку. Здалося, що текст цікавий. От і взяла собі «Твердиню» Макса Кідрука, через яку ледь не пропустила свою зупинку, поринувши у надзвичайну розповідь. А потім не могла дочекатися зворотного шляху, щоб продовжити захоплююче читання.
«Твердиня» містить все – пригоди, загадкову історію, кохання, інтригу, небезпеку. Вся ця суміш приперчена тонким гумором. Автор розкриває перед нами незвіданий світ джунглів та підіймає завісу загадки міста інків Паїтіті. А молодь, яка потрапляє в сповнену небезпек історію, дуже розумна креативна та сучасна. Один момент мені особливо сподобався. Головному героєві потрібно було непомітно нарвати квітів наркотичної рослини, щоб підмішати у їжу зловмисникам. Тільки він не розрахував, що аромат викликає легке наркотичне сп’яніння. Опис хлопця, який замріяно повис на скелі та наспівує Гімн України у той час, коли друзі відволікають охорону, дуже кумедний. Таких моментів у «Твердині» дуже багато. До всього, можна дізнатися безліч нового для себе: про екзотичні рослини, комахи, навіть про спрей для відлякування ведмедя (виявляється такий існує!).
Пишу допис, а вже мрію про повторне перечитування книги. Сама ж розворушила спогади про цю нереально цікаву розповідь! Тож сьогодні знову розпочну повторну захоплюючу подорож до міста інків Паїтті разом із «Твердинею» Макса Кідрука.
