[ENG-ESP] 👑💕 Book Review: Las Cadenas del Rey 🤴🏼❄️

Hello Hello Community! ✨, and here we are again with my obsession of these days, it is impressive how my love and admiration for these books has been of such a level, that until today I have not been able to start another book, the reason? I want to keep mourning this reading 🤣, to have the opportunity to keep remembering as much as possible the story, especially because I usually forget or even mix stories when I move quickly from one book to another, and that's how I'm still hooked to this book of which I come to talk to you, being the second of the saga, today we will talk about The King's Chains 🤴🏼🌹, and once and for all I warn that there will be small spoilers 👀.

Emily Malhore has managed to survive the challenges and unfavourable circumstances that life has put in her way, she has managed to face the oppression and intrigues that have spread through Mishnock, however now she must face an even greater challenge, to be considered the king's perfume, as she has become the obsession of the one she thought was the love of her life, away from all her family, Emily is now a prisoner in the castle, so she must make the decision to run away risking everything, or stay and suffer eternally her confinement.

But life can always take more twists and turns than we think, and when a new love knocks on the door of her heart, Emily will risk a romance that defies all her convictions, all this while the peace agreements between the kingdoms take place and make our protagonist an important piece of the kingdoms. Once again embroiled in manipulations, governmental conflicts and romances that seem to destroy more than war, Emily seems to have no respite from the events in her life 🤴🏼❄️.

The King's Chains is the second book of the King Saga by Colombian author Karine Bernal Lobo, the story begins at the same point where the previous book left off, with Emily planning her escape from the prison where she is, a prison that has been designed for her under the premise of "eternal love". This escape is actually of great value to the plot of this second book, because given the circumstances in which Emily finds herself, her only form of freedom is for her to leave her country, to get completely away from her family and all the comforts in which she had grown up, and to put it in today's language, her plan is to illegally migrate to the Lacrontte kingdom, and it is here that the author talks about illegal migration, border conflicts and how a person decides to start from scratch in another country basically because of political persecution, sound familiar? 🤣.

The border crossing that the author presents us with I really feel that it is extremely close to reality, and it is these elements that keep me hooked to this story, because within a fantasy premise that is sold as romance, Karine takes us into issues that are relevant in our current society, and also does it in a digestible way that is easier to understand 💖. In addition to this, another theme that is introduced in this book is that of peace agreements, or what we know as "dialogues between political sides", and they even have to go to another kingdom (country) to carry them out 🤣, doesn't it remind you of something? 🤣.

This second book, unlike the first one, is narrated from two perspectives, Emily's obviously and that of a very special character for me, our King Magnus VI Lacrontte 💖, thus confirming that he is the second main character of this story, in fact the difference in narrations between the first and this second book, is well thought by the author because in the Perfume of the King we are shown a story that points to Stefan being the male protagonist, that's why in the previous review I mentioned that this detail had not bothered me 🤭, because it was precisely an element that had to be taken care of for this second book. If there is one thing I have to point out about this second book in terms of this narrative, it is that once the second perspective is introduced, I spent the following chapters waiting to read King Magnus' version again 🤭.

Despite everything that happens to Emily, and things happen to her in this book, I really liked that at the end you get to see an incredible strength in her, in fact since her escape plan is carried out, you can already see an important growth in her, what I like the most is that they take away several kilos of clumsiness and with that they make her a more interesting female protagonist to read, and even admire, because as I mentioned in the previous review, Emily is a character with an admirable resilience, but that at one point can break, and it is in that break where I connected with her, and even made me see my own weaknesses and that is something that nourishes literary characters 💖.

75% of the story takes place more or less in a week, so the pace in my opinion is a little slow, the events that occur outside this period of time, both before and after, if I felt more bearable and with a lot of time game. Now, the descriptions in this book improve a lot, if you still feel that in the beginning there are many details that can be explained throughout the chapters, but I give credit for the improvements seen in this second copy 💖. There are characters that were relevant in the first book, but in this second one they don't appear more, in fact there are some that don't even appear and they are not missed 🤣, what is very relevant is the origin of Nahomi's character, they finally reveal her importance and the truth is that I didn't see it coming at any time, I was expecting more the visions (which I still don't know if she has them or not) than the plot twist they gave her.

Love can be a death trap, and that is made very clear in this book, I knew I would end up as heartbroken as Emily, but I still turned a blind eye and hit the same wall as the book's protagonist. However, we also see the undercurrent of stories that really move you, the death of Magnus' parents, the sacrifice his advisor Francis made to basically cover the father figure that the King was missing, the various traditions that are seen because of the crown, showing that sometimes it's not all black and white, but that there is also a large scale of greyscale.

¡Hola Hola Comunidad! ✨, y aquí estamos de nuevo con mi obsesión de estos días, es impresionante como mi cariño y admiración por estos libros ha sido de tal nivel, que hasta el sol de hoy no he podido comenzaré otro libro, ¿La razón?, quiero seguir guardandole luto a ésta lectura 🤣, poder tener la oportunidad de seguir recordando lo más posible la historia, sobre todo porque yo suelo olvidar o incluso mezclar historias cuando paso rápidamente de un libro a otro, y así es como sigo aquí enganchada a éste libro del cual vengo a hablarles, siendo el segundo de la saga, hoy hablaremos sobre Las Cadenas del Rey 🤴🏼🌹, y de una vez aviso que habrá pequeños spoilers 👀.

Emily Malhore ha logrado sobrevivir a los desafíos y circunstancias desfavorables que la vida le ha puesto por el camino, ha logrado enfrentar la opresión y las intrigas que se han propagado por Mishnock, sin embargo ahora debe encarar un reto aún mayor, ser considera el perfume del rey, pues se ha convertido en la obsesión de quien ella pensó era el amor de su vida, alejada de toda su familia, Emily ahora se encuentra prisionera en el castillo, por lo que debe tomar la decisión de huir arriesgándolo todo, o quedarse y sufrir eternamente su encierro.

Pero la vida siempre puede dar más vueltas de las que pensamos, y cuando un nuevo amor toca la puerta de su corazón, Emily se arriesgará a vivir un romance que desafía todas sus convicciones, todo ésto mientras se llevan a cabo los acuerdos de paz entre los reinos y convierten a nuestra protagonista en una ficha importante de éstos. Nuevamente envuelta en manipulaciones, conflictos gubernamentales y romances que parecen destruir más que la guerra, Emily parece no tener tregua en los acontecimientos que ocurren en su vida 🤴🏼❄️.

Las Cadenas del Rey es el segundo libro de la Saga Rey de la autora colombiana Karine Bernal Lobo, la historia comienza en el mismo punto donde nos dejó el libro anterior, con Emily planeando su fuga de la prisión donde se encuentra, una carcel que han diseñado para ella bajo la premisa de “amor eterno”. Ésta fuga es realmente de gran valor para la trama de éste segundo libro, pues dadas las circunstancias en las que se encuentra Emily, su única forma de libertad consiste en que ella abandone su país, se aleje por completo de su familia y de todas las comodidades en las que había crecido, y es que para ponerlo en un lenguaje actual, su plan consiste en migrar ilegalmente al reino Lacrontte, y es aquí donde la autora nos habla sobre la migración ilegal, los conflictos fronterizos y la forma en que una persona decide comenzar desde cero en otro país básicamente por persecución política ¿Se les hace familiar? 🤣.

El cruce fronterizo que nos plantea la autora realmente siento que está sumamente apegado a la realidad, y son estos elementos los que me siguen enganchando a ésta historia, porque dentro de una premisa de fantasía que se vende como romance, Karine nos adentra dentro temas que son relevantes en nuestra sociedad actual, y además lo hace de una forma digerible que resulta más fácil de comprender 💖. Además de ésto, otro tema que se introduce en éste libro es el de los acuerdos de paz, o lo que nosotros conocemos como “diálogos entre bandos políticos”, incluso hasta les toca irse a otro reino (país) para llevarlos a cabo 🤣, ¿No les vuelve a recordar algo? 🤣.

Éste segundo libro, a diferencia del primero, está narrado desde dos perspectivas, la de Emily obviamente y la de un personaje bastante especial para mí, nuestro Rey Magnus VI Lacrontte 💖, confirmando así que él es el segundo personaje principal de ésta historia, de hecho la diferencia de narraciones entre el primer y éste segundo libro, está bien pensanda por parte de la autora pues en el Perfume del Rey nos muestran una historia que apunta a que será Stefan el protagonista masculino, justo por eso en la reseña anterior mencioné que ese detalle no me había molestado 🤭, pues precisamente era un elemento que había que cuidar para éste segundo libro. Si algo debo destacar de éste segundo libro en cuanto a ésta narración, es que una vez se introduce la segunda perspectiva, yo pasé los siguientes capítulos esperando volver a leer la versión del Rey Magnus 🤭.

A pesar de todo lo que ocurre con Emily, y vaya que le pasan cosas en éste libro, me gustó muchísimo que al final se logra ver una increíble fortaleza en ella, es más desde que se lleva a cabo su plan de huida, ya se ve en ella un crecimiento importante, lo que más me agrada es que le quitan varios kilos de torpeza y con eso la hacen una protagonista femenina más interesante de leer, e incluso admirar, porque tal y como lo mencioné en la reseña anterior, Emily es un personaje con una resiliencia admirable, pero que en un punto puede quebrarse, y es en ese quiebre donde más conecté con ella, e incluso me hizo ver mis propias debilidades y eso es algo que nutre mucho a los personajes literarios 💖.

El 75% de la historia transcurre más o menos en una semana, por lo que el ritmo a mi parecer sí se me hace un poquito lento, los eventos que ocurren fuera de éste periodo de tiempo, tanto antes como después, si los sentí más llevaderos y con mucho juego del tiempo. Ahora bien, las descripciones en éste libro mejoran mucho, si se sigue sintiendo que en el inicio hay muchos detalles que pueden irse explicando a lo largo de los capítulos, pero le doy el mérito por las mejoras vistas en éste segundo ejemplar 💖. Hay personajes que fueron relevantes en el primer libro, que para éste segundo no tienen mayor aparición, de hecho hay algunos que ni aparecen y tampoco se extrañan 🤣, lo que sí tiene mucha relevancia es el origen del personaje de Nahomi, finalmente nos revelan su importancia y la verdad es que no lo ví venir en ningún momento, me esperaba más el tema de las visiones (que aún no me queda claro si las tiene o no) que el giro de trama que le dieron.

El amor puede ser una trampa mortal, y eso queda muy claro en éste libro, yo sabía que acabaría con el corazón roto igual Emily, pero aún así me hice de la vista gorda y me estrellé contra la misma pared que la protagonista del libro. Sin embargo, también vemos el trasfondo de historias que te movilizan mucho, la muerte de los padres de Magnus, el sacrificio que hizo su asesor Francis para básicamente cubrir la figura paterna que al Rey le hacía falta, las diversas tradiciones que se ven a causa de la corona, demostrando que ocasiones no todo es blanco y negro, sino que también hay una gran escala de grises.
