In the enchanting world of children's literature, characters sometimes emerge who manage to capture, with their innocence and touching purity, the free and dream-filled spirit of childhood. Such is the case with "Cheerful Smile," the protagonist of this book, which was a gift to me from its own author recently, and which I read, with great pleasure, by special request.

En el encantador universo de la literatura infantil, a veces surgen personajes que logran encerrar, con su inocencia y su pureza conmovedora, el espíritu libre y soñador de la infancia. Y ese es el caso de “Sonrisa Vivaracha", la protagonista de este libro que fue un regalo que me hizo su propio autor recientemente, y lo leí, como mucho gusto, por encargo especial.
From the very first pages, I discovered a little eight-year-old girl with messy blonde hair and bright eyes, whose greatest peculiarity was her complete disinterest in food and her favorite phrase: "I don't want to!" Plates of vegetables, fruits, and rye bread failed to capture her attention because her mind, and her entire being, were elsewhere: in the sky. Why waste time chewing when you could be flying among the clouds and admiring the landscape from above?
Desde las primeras páginas, descubri a una pequeña niña de ocho años, cabello rubio, revuelto y de ojos brillantes, cuya mayor peculiaridad era su total desinterés por la comida y pronunciar su frase favorita: ¡no quiero!. Los platos de verduras, las frutas ni el pan de centeno lograban captar su atención, porque su mente, y todo su ser, están en otra parte: en el cielo. ¿para qué perder tiempo en masticar cuando se puede estar volando entre las nubes y admirar el paisaje desde arriba?
Cheerful Smile thinks of nothing but flying. She watches majestic birds with a mix of envy and profound admiration, convinced that her true happiness lies in soaring through the sky. This yearning is not a passing whim, but the engine that drives a story that gifts us a series of incredible adventures throughout its pages.
Sonrisa no piensa en otra cosa que no sea en volar. Observa a las aves majestuosas con una mezcla de envidia y admiración profunda, convencida de que su verdadera felicidad está en surcar el cielo. Este anhelo no es un capricho pasajero, sino el motor que mueve una historia que nos regala una serie de increibles peripecias a lo largos de sus páginas.
The climax of the story arrives when Cheerful Smile is captured by a villain who specializes in crossbreeding animal species and wants to do the same with her. We will see how the character's evolution begins. Here, children will find a magic wand, a fairy godmother, and other fantastic elements that recreate and set their imagination soaring.
El clímax de la historia llega cuando Sonrisa es capturada por un malbado que se dedica a cruzar especies de animales y también lo quiere hacer con ella. Veremos como empieza la evolución del personaje. Los niños encontran aquí, una barita mágica, un hada madrina y otros elementos fantásticos que recrean y echan a volar la imaginación infantil.
They will also find here a solemn and beautiful promise that gives the story its heart:Cheerful Smile promises to care for and protect all birds and animals. This vow is not just words, but a philosophy of life. Throughout the reading, we see her conversing with birds as if they share a secret language.
También encontraran aquí una promesa solemne y hermosa que da corazón a la historia: Sonrisa promete cuidar y proteger a todas las aves y animales. Este voto no es solo palabras, sino una filosofía de vida. Durante toda la lectura, la vemos conversando con las aves como si compartieran un lenguaje secreto.
The narrative of this tale, simple yet poetic, skillfully explores deep themes such as vocation, environmental care, and the search for purpose, all wrapped in the magic of a child's imagination. The illustrations, full of color and strokes that mimic flight, recreating the different settings where the story unfolds, perfectly complement this feeling of freedom and connection with nature.
La narrativa de este cuento, sencilla pero poética, explora con acierto temas profundos como la vocación, el cuidado del medio ambiente y la búsqueda de un propósito, todo envuelto en la magia de la imaginación infantil. Las ilustraciones, llenas de color y trazos que simulan el vuelo, y recrean los diferentes escenarios donde transcurre la historia, complementan a la perfección esta sensación de libertad y conexión con la naturaleza.
Her love for animals and her desire to protect them give her a special lightness, a kind of elevation of the spirit that everyone around her begins to recognize. She learns that flying is not just a physical act, but also a state of the soul achieved by following one's own passion and honoring promises made from the heart.
Su amor por los animales y su deseo de protegerlos le dan una ligereza especial, una especie de elevación del espíritu que todos a su alrededor empiezan a reconocer. Aprende que volar no es solo un acto físico, sino también un estado del alma que se alcanza siguiendo la pasión propia y honrando las promesas hechas con el corazón.
"Cheerful Smile",Story by the Spanish writer Ramón Trasmonte, is more than a book about a girl who doesn't want to eat; she is not a common girl, her name is a destiny and her heart, a nest. It is a song to authentic dreams, an ode to empathy, and a tender lesson on how to find our place in the world, often by looking up and reaching out a hand (or a wing) to the most vulnerable. A book that fosters love for animals and nature, and will undoubtedly make more than one cheerful young reader smile.
“Sonrisa Vivaracha", cuento del escritor español Ramón Trasmonte, es más que un libro sobre una niña que no quiere comer, no es una niña común, su nombre es un destino y su corazón, un nido. Es un canto a los sueños auténticos, una oda a la empatía y una tierna lección sobre cómo encontrar nuestro lugar en el mundo, a menudo, mirando hacia arriba y tendiendo la mano (o el ala) a los más vulnerables. Un libro que fomenta el amor por los aninales y la naturaleza y sin duda, hará sonreír a algún que otro pequeños vivaracho lector.
