Every time I finish a book, I say I'm going to take a break from working on books to focus on other stuff. It never happens; there are too many ideas! I just published Little Piggies Embrace Hygge, which was a deviation from our usual piggy travel series. Now, we're doing something completely different: Little Piggies Invest in Digital Currency (Or should it be "Little Piggies Invest in Cryptocurrency"? Comment below!) This book was half-written months ago, but I never got around to working on the illustrations. We typically use Instagram to do behind-the-scenes looks at our work-in-progress, but figured the Hive community might enjoy this one more. I always work on the cover for my books first. I gets me excited to work on the book and helps me choose a color scheme. The cover above is the rough-draft cover. Check out how we created the rough-draft below!

I decided to do a #blockchain hash pattern for the piggy's dress. I think it gives it a futuristic look and I was partly inspired by the pattern from the movie "The Matrix." I've heard humans can't generate random numbers; only computers can. I tried to make these as random as possible. How did I do?
I wanted to include some of the top cryptocurrencies on the cover, so I included Bitcoin, Zcash, and Ethereum.
The reflect/copy tool in Adobe Illustrator is a huge help in drawing the Ethereum logo:
The #Bitcoin font is Ubuntu Bold Italic, but my computer doesn't have that. Instead, I used a font called Rockwell and edited the "B" a little bit to make the inside shapes a little bigger.
Of course, I couldn't leave out "piggy coin." I typically use the uniform line for my illustrations, but wanted to make this look more like a coin indent. 🔽
I had so much fun designing Piggy Coin.
