Warm greetings to all my friends in the wonderful Hive Book Club community. It’s a real pleasure for me to be back here with another of my favourite books, Soulmates.
"Soulmates", written by Deepak Chopra, is a novel that is both romantic and deeply spiritual. The story centres on a young doctor named Raj Rabban and his encounter with a passionate woman named Molly. Both come to realise that genuine love transcends all that is tangible and even death itself, leading to a transformation of the self. Deepak Chopra brings us a story that shows how love is capable of overcoming the toughest of boundaries, thus portraying the most beautiful connection between soulmates. The author emphasises that true love is capable of going beyond the unimaginable, beyond logic and routine, and travels towards eternity.
Raj Rabban has always been a man who thinks only of his work. He had only ever known one great love, and that was in his mother’s eyes when he was a child. At the age of 25, he still hadn’t fallen in love. His parents, worried that Raj hadn’t found love by that age, looked for a girl for him and were therefore relieved. When Raj met Maya, he began to feel attracted to the woman who was to become his wife, and the time he had to wait to make her his seemed like an eternity.
Raj and Maya spent their holidays alone in a cabin, spending their time planning their wedding. It was then that Raj met Molly. At that moment, he felt the most beautiful spark of love that touched his soul, leading him to reflect on his life and the commitment he had made to his parents by agreeing to marry the girl they had chosen for him. To tell the truth, he loved Maya and didn’t want her to suffer because of him, but he couldn’t stop Molly from being constantly on his mind. And although Maya saw him as constantly distracted and pensive, they stayed together.

Raj and Molly had a passionate affair. Molly was like an obsession in Raj’s mind. He couldn’t believe he was in love with two women at the same time. He did his best to find time to see them both. However, Raj decided to devote himself to Molly.
Because of her work in the theatre, Molly sometimes went away on tour for periods of time. Until one day she rang him and told him she had to travel to sort out some matters. He made her promise that she would ring him as soon as she arrived at the airport. The next day, Raj was seeing a patient when the wall phone rang again and again, until Raj picked up the receiver and heard someone tell him that she had died. Who has died? Is it one of my patients? They repeated the news to him. He couldn’t comprehend what he was hearing. That news was the end of the world for him. The shock was so great that he couldn’t believe what was happening. He kept listening to what they were telling him: we found her name in her handbag and we’ve already called her family too. Her name is Molly. Do you know her? She has passed away.
After so much suffering, Raj senses Molly’s presence. She appears to Raj and guides him in his work with his patients, as well as in his relationship with Maya. Over time, Raj realises that Molly is helping him to develop a gift for healing. This reveals the profound love between Molly and Raj, which transcends time and space, as true soulmates
The author suggests that love is the most beautiful energy, capable of transcending the boundaries between life and death, with a magical and subtle connection to other levels of consciousness.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post, with its profound message of true love.
