Hola hivers espero que se encuentren muy bien. ¿Están interesados en un libro pero aún no deciden cuál leer? Pues mi recomendación de hoy es del autor John Green 💚, escritor de Bajo la misma estrella, Buscando a Alaska, Ciudades de Papel entre otros.
El libro que les estaré recomendando hoy es Turtles all the way down 🐢 o Mil veces hasta siempre. Dónde se habla sobre el vivir con Trastorno Obsesivo Compulsivo, de la amistad y el amor.
Sinopsis:
Aza nunca tuvo intención de investigar el misterio del multimillonario fugitivo Russell Pickett. Pero hay una recompensa de cien mil dólares en juego y su mejor y más intrépida amiga, Daisy, no está dispuesta a dejarla escapar. Así, juntas, recorrerán la corta distancia y las enormes diferencias que les separan del hijo de Russell Pickett, Davis.
Aza lo está intentando. Trata de ser una buena hija, una buena amiga, una buena estudiante y, tal vez, incluso una buena detective, mientras vive en la espiral cada vez más estrecha de sus propios pensamientos.

En esta historia nos encontramos con Aza una adolescente con TOC que intenta llevar una vida normal lo cual se le dificulta ya que sus pensamientos literalmente no paran. Daisy es su mejor amiga, es extrovertida y todo lo opuesto a Aza pero aún así tienen una amistad sólida.
Un día aparece en las noticias la desaparición de Russell Pickett un millonario, y padre de Davis, que alguna vez fue amigo de Aza. La desaparición ocurrió de repente y en circunstancias muy extrañas.
Ofrecen una gran cantidad de dinero por el rescate y Daisy no desaprovechara está oportunidad. Aza no está para nada de acuerdo en involucrarse pero Daisy la convence y comienzan una nueva aventura.
Aza y Daisy se escabullen en la casa de Davis por un lugar que recuerda Aza dónde solía entrar para jugar con Davis, del cual ella estaba enamorada pero nunca llegaron a nada, solo eran niños.
Allí son descubiertas por un guardia de seguridad, no sin antes llevarse una cámara que Davis dejaba en ese lugar y que será clave para dar con el paradero de su padre.
Ellas fingen estar buscando a Davis y el guardia las dirige dentro de la casa. La casa obviamente es asombrosa y está llena de lujos.
Cuando Aza y Davis se reencuentran este la reconoce y mantiene una conversación, donde el le dice que seguro ya se enteró de la desaparición de su padre.
Aza le dice que no está interesada en el dinero pero guarda el secreto de que Daisy y ella van a averiguar dónde está su padre.
Lo que más me gustó de este libro es como John Green aborda el tema de la salud mental, dándonos un personaje como Aza la cual sufre con constantes pensamientos que no la dejan estar en paz.
El tema del TOC es bastante complicado de entender y desgastante, es una espiral repetitiva, tratar de llevar una vida normal con este trastorno es difícil. Se le debería de dar más visibilidad y no decir cosas cómo ''Piensa en otra cosa'' o ''Te falta fuerza de voluntad'' o peor aún ''No crees lo suficiente en Dios'' y la verdad es que eso son comentarios demasiado desalentadores y solo perjudican a la persona que lo sufre. Es necesario pedir ayuda antes incluso de decir, ya no puedo más con esto.
De verdad me gusta la manera en que John Green se expresa a través de sus libros y me emociona un montón que próximamente este libro va a tener su propia película. Espero que valga la pena de ver y que no le quite la esencia a sus personajes.
Si eres fan de John Green te invito a leer este libro y si no lo eres a qué le des una oportunidad, es muy fácil de leer y si te gustan los temas de salud mental puede que también te guste la historia que también tiene algo de suspenso.

One day the disappearance of Russell Pickett a millionaire, and Davis' father, who was once Aza's friend, is in the news. The disappearance occurred suddenly and under very strange circumstances.
A large amount of money is offered for the ransom and Daisy does not miss this opportunity. Aza doesn't agree at all to get involved but Daisy convinces her and they start a new adventure.
Aza and Daisy sneak into Davis' house through a place that Aza remembers where she used to go to play with Davis, with whom she was in love but they never got anywhere, they were just kids.
There they are discovered by a security guard, but not before taking a camera that Davis left in that place and that will be key to finding the whereabouts of his father.
They pretend to be looking for Davis and the guard directs them into the house. The house is obviously amazing and full of luxuries.
When Aza and Davis meet again, Davis recognizes her and has a conversation, where he tells her that he must have heard about her father's disappearance.
Aza tells her that she is not interested in the money but keeps it a secret that she and Daisy are going to find out where her father is.
What I liked most about this book is how John Green tackles the issue of mental health, giving us a character like Aza who suffers with constant thoughts that don't let her be at peace.
The subject of OCD is quite complicated to understand and exhausting, it is a repetitive spiral, trying to lead a normal life with this disorder is difficult. It should be given more visibility and not say things like ''Think about something else'' or ''You lack willpower'' or even worse ''You do not believe enough in God'' and the truth is that these are too discouraging comments and only harm the person who suffers from it. It is necessary to ask for help before even saying, I can't take this anymore.
I really like the way John Green expresses himself through his books and I'm really excited that soon this book is going to have its own movie. I hope it's worth watching and doesn't take away from the essence of his characters.
