Hola amigos de la comunidad de BookClub, espero se encuentren bien el día de hoy. Ayer terminé de leer un libro que me causó mucha ansiedad y el deseo por saber cómo terminaría, el libro se llama La Paciente Silenciosa y fue escrito por Alex Michaelides quién además de escritor es psicoterapeuta por lo que sabía muy bien el trabajo que haría en esta historia de género Thriller que no tiene desperdicio y que puede que como yo muchos no conozcan esta obra, realmente leí el libro en una semana y eso es algo que me impresiona porque había perdido el hábito de leer pero este libro logró atraparme.

Yesterday I finished reading a book that caused me a lot of anxiety and the desire to know how it would end, the book is called The Silent Patient and was written by Alex Michaelides who besides being a writer is a psychotherapist so he knew very well the work he would do in this Thriller genre story that has no waste and that may like me many do not know this work, I really read the book in a week and that is something that impresses me because I had lost the habit of reading but this book managed to catch me.
La historia se cuenta en el inicio a través de un diario escrito por la protagonista Alicia Berenson quién habla sobre lo terrible de las situaciones que ha vivido en su vida y como de alguna manera buscaba escapar a través del arte de su pasado tortuoso y de la terrible e irremediable verdad. Alicia Berenson se encuentra recluida en la actualidad en un psiquiatrico llamado The Grove dónde fue llevada luego de ser declarada culpable de la muerte de su adorado esposo Gabriel y de mostrar una actitud indiferente y permaneciendo en silencio, el silencio que mantiene para de alguna forma no tener que revivir lo que vivió esa noche en la que Gabriel quien era el amor de su vida murió producto de cinco disparos propinados por Alicia según lo que la policía determinó al finalizar con el caso.
The story is told in the beginning through a diary written by the protagonist Alicia Berenson who talks about the terrible situations she has lived through in her life and how she somehow sought to escape through art from her tortuous past and the terrible and irremediable truth. Alicia Berenson is currently confined in a psychiatric hospital called The Grove where she was taken after being found guilty of the death of her beloved husband Gabriel and showing an indifferent attitude and remaining silent, the silence she maintains to somehow avoid having to relive what she lived that night when Gabriel who was the love of her life died as a result of five shots fired by Alicia according to what the police determined at the end of the case.

Alicia además de ser una gran artista y pintora, pasatiempo que tenía mientras vivió con su esposo Gabriel y que le llevo a recibir cumplidos en exhibiciones, también ocultaba un pasado marcado por la muerte de sus progenitores producto del suicidio de ambos, su madre fue la primera en tomar la terrible decisión y con el tiempo su padre al no poder soportar la idea de no estar con su esposa acabó también con su vida, por lo que Alicia tuvo que lidiar con ese dolor completamente sola y además buscar en alguien el cariño y la protección que sintió le faltó por parte de sus padres.

Theo Faber quién se convirtió en psicoterapeuta, en algún momento de su vida estuvo en terapia por presentar una depresión profunda donde visitó por un tiempo a una psicoterapeuta que lo ayudó de algún modo a encontrar las herramientas para vivir su propia vida y no quedarse estancado en la idea de que no era el hijo que su padre esperaba tener o que era un joven sumamente pesimista que no tenía nada a lo que aferrarse a la vida. Pero luego con la terapia se dió cuenta que tenía la posibilidad de estudiar y de ser un psicoterapeuta y ayudar a otras personas, así como hasta ahora lo ha hecho.
Theo Faber who became a psychotherapist, at some point in his life was in therapy because of a deep depression where he visited for a while a psychotherapist who helped him somehow to find the tools to live his own life and not get stuck in the idea that he was not the son his father hoped to have or that he was an extremely pessimistic young man who had nothing to hold on to in life. But then with therapy he realized that he had the possibility to study and to be a psychotherapist and help other people, as he has done so far.
Alicia Berenson y Theo Faber comparten algo que los hace estar más unidos de forma real y es que ambos vivieron infancias que los marcaron y que dejaron huellas en las personas que soy hoy en día. De esta manera es que le es más fácil a Theo poder encontrar las ideas con las que podría incentivar a Alicia a hablar y poder contar la verdad de lo que sucedió esa noche en que fue encontrada por la policia con las muñecas cortadas y a Gabriel con varios balazos en la cara y el pecho.

Me encanta la idea de haber empezado a leer un libro de género Thriller psicológico ya que me interesa como la mente humana puede hacer cosas que consciente o inconscientemente nos guian hacia nuestro destino, en el caso de Alicia siempre la vi como una persona que fue víctima de sus padres y de sus propias inseguridades, de la falta de amor que necesito en su hogar y que busco en otros lugares y otras personas, otorgándoles el poder de dañar su autoestima y su propia voluntad.
I love the idea of having started reading a book of psychological thriller genre because I am interested in how the human mind can do things that consciously or unconsciously guide us to our destiny, in the case of Alicia I always saw her as a person who was a victim of her parents and her own insecurities, of the lack of love that I need at home and that she looked for in other places and other people, giving them the power to damage her self-esteem and her own will.
Es un libro algo largo, lo leí a través del teléfono y fueron más de ochocientas páginas donde me sentí dentro de cada uno de los personajes y seguí cada pista que se iba revelando hasta llegar al final tan inesperado como perfecto para mí y que me causó una gran impresión, ya que de todos los finales nunca imaginé que la historia se tornará en algo inesperado. Me gustó la forma de escribir de Alex Michaelides y quiero buscar más libros de su autoría si son tan buenos como este, que aunque no fue perfecto si puedo decir que es uno de los libros con mejor final en mi opinión. Así que los invito a leer La Paciente Silenciosa si no lo han hecho, vale la pena cada minuto que pasas al leer está historia y descubres que nada es lo que parece y que hasta la persona más inteligente puede hacer cosas malas si se siente traicionada.
It is a somewhat long book, I read it through the phone and it was more than eight hundred pages where I felt inside each of the characters and I followed each clue that was revealed until the end as unexpected as perfect for me and that caused me a great impression, since of all the endings I never imagined that the story would turn into something unexpected. I liked Alex Michaelides' way of writing and I want to look for more of his books if they are as good as this one, which although it was not perfect I can say that it is one of the books with the best ending in my opinion. So I invite you to read The Silent Patient if you haven't, it's worth every minute you spend reading this story and you discover that nothing is what it seems and that even the smartest person can do bad things if they feel betrayed.
