I need to give myself a break with Cara Hunter because I've read three books in a row that aren't direct sequels and honestly, she doesn't have an amazing enough writing style to read that many of her books. I'm starting to see the patterns she uses and while each of the three stories is different, I didn't like this last book as much.Necesito darme una pausa con Cara Hunter porque me he leído tres libros seguidos que no son secuelas directas y sinceramente, no tiene un estilo de escritura tan asombroso como para leerme tantos libros suyos. "No Way Out" is not even a bad book. This is the book I liked the most in terms of the character of Inspector Fawley, Cara humanizes him even more and everything that has happened to him through the first two books is coming together. The detectives and officers that accompany him have improved, I grew fond of all of them, even Quinn who is quite easy to hate.“No Way Out” ni siquiera es un mal libro. The plot itself unfolds well, one of the few flaws I feel it has was that it took too long to give me suspects. I understand that setting up and analyzing the fire scene takes weeks, but there was no need to drag it out so long in the book. One plus point is that when I was finally given the suspects, I was very confused, because they alternated flashbacks of the family's life between chapters and I completely doubted five people. They weren't mere suspicions, one line was enough for them to be guilty because everything got more and more twisted, and every one of them was implicated up to their necks. To make that believable is a marvel. Of the three books, it has my favorite ending. It's not surprising to unthinkable levels, but the way they built it up leaves you with a good taste in your mouth. What they've been putting together the whole book makes sense and fits perfectly.Un punto a favor es que, cuando al fin me dieron los sospechosos, yo estaba muy confundida, porque alternaban flashbacks de la vida de la familia entre capítulos y dudé completamente de cinco personas. No eran simples sospechas, bastaba una línea para que fuesen culpables porque todo se torcía más y más, y cada uno de ellos estaba implicado hasta el cuello. Lograr que eso sea creíble es una maravilla. De los tres libros, tiene mi final favorito. No es sorprendente a niveles impensables, pero la forma en que lo construyeron te deja un buen sabor de boca. Lo que llevan armándose todo el libro cobra sentido y encaja perfecto.
I give it a 3.5/5 because it took a long time to get going and got a little boring for me at times. If you don't read all three books in a row like I did, it might be a solid 4/5.Le doy un 3.5/5 porque tardó mucho en arrancar y se me hizo algo aburrido en algunas ocasiones.
