Hello to all book lovers! 📕
Do you have books you don't want to touch? I think everyone will have a book like this. It depends on what topic you like and what you don't like at all. Imagine that you are very afraid of spiders, then, perhaps, a book about spiders would not delight you. But this comparison is very simple. For example, I have a book that I don't even want to pick up when I see it. But curiosity wins, because now it is important to assess the situation adequately, and understand what kind of book is in front of your eyes?
So, I go to a bookstore with my French friend. We were looking for children's books. We had a lot of time to look at the shelves of the bookstore, so the book caught my eye "Poutine. L'ascension d'un dictateur" (in French).
It turned out that this book was written for teenagers, based on a biography of Putin. It is made in the form of a comic (or, I would say, a graphic edition).
The book was published in April 2022. But the first version was published in October 2021. The new version differs in that at the beginning information about the beginning of the war in Ukraine was reprinted. It says that Putin declared war on Ukraine on February 24, 2022. But then the book continues as it was published before the war. Putin's biography is shown here with the help of many pictures and text: from his work in the KGB to the present day.
Here are the pages of the book:
The book does not praise Putin, but instead emphasizes his dictatorial methods of governing. I asked my friend if she thought this book about Putin was written in a good way, and after reviewing the book, she said no. And this is good. After all, if teenagers in France have access to such a publication, they would not want them to read inadequate information in the book.
The book is from the stand of comics for teenagers. There are many comics on important topics: history, politics, creativity. This book about Putin costs 25 euros. I would not spend a penny on it.
Do you think teenagers need Putin's biography? Would you buy such a book? I'm not.
Thank you for your attention, all good and useful reading!
