Today I want to tell you about my favorite Manhwa, TOWER OF GOD. Some of you may already know it due to the fact that it was recently adapted into anime, but I think the animated series only shows the tip of the iceberg of all the good this Manhwa has to offer. I'll do my best not to do too many spoilers for those interested in reading it.
Why is it my favorite?
TOG has many qualities that have captivated me, but I particularly want to highlight its solid and unique story. The plot revolves around Bam, a boy who finds himself trapped underground with no idea how he got there. One day, after escaping, he meets Rachel (whom I hate), a girl who tells him about her dream of seeing the stars. But to fulfill his dream, they must climb to the top of a tower where beings with special powers dwell, each labeled with a name that reflects their ability, most normal people are called "Regulars", but Bam turns out to be an "Irregular", someone who poses a threat to the established laws inside the tower.
TOG's story especially grabbed me because it is different from what I usually read. The plot moves along at a balanced pace, without rushing, which is important as there is a lot to take in, especially as the story relates to the characters' pasts. There are a lot of gaps at the beginning, which pushes you to keep reading to understand what is going on. Also, the story doesn't just focus on Bam's desire to climb the tower for Rachel, but there is a lot more behind his entry into the tower, which gives it continuity and makes it even more interesting and original.
TOG does something very good that I have only seen in certain anime or manga, I say this because in other Manhwa I have not seen it, is that TOG develops many of its characters not only the main one, but the whole environment evolves with it the more you advance, this is something that is not seen in almost any Manhwa (at least of those that I have read) so that already differentiates it from the rest.
As such I have to say that it also has an absurd amount of secondary characters, that at the beginning being honest I didn't like at all, only the 3 main characters that clearly had the best dialogues, but the more you advance the more characters you meet so some become quite interesting and all of them become much more relevant to the plot so the secondary characters become much more enjoyable and don't just seem like filler. They also show the backstory of most of these so Bam won't necessarily be your favorite, in fact, mine isn't either hahaha.
As for the development in my opinion they took care of it a lot since they make it medium slow, but it evolves very well, although I won't lie to you the more you advance it feels like a PowerUP festival for the characters but well this is normal in many Manhwa since if they didn't do it this way they would take longer than expected so they would take twice as long hahaha.
Art
Something that I like a lot about TOG is the art, the design that it has is very incredible since it changes according to the situation, many times it is very abstract to give more fun to what they are saying so this helps a lot to the comedy, ah that was something I forgot to mention is that TOG has a pretty good comedy, the funny thing is that some fights are benefited from this same hahaha.
Many times the drawing in certain scenes of combat is incredible, clearly, it is not comparable to some drawn as Solo Leveling which is something much more serious and incredible, but even so, TOG is not left behind, although the more it advances the art becomes much more mature so that childish aspect that it had at the beginning disappears.

I wanted to talk about this Manhwa more than review it, I wanted to recommend it because it is quite good so I feel that almost anyone could enjoy reading it, it is currently in chapter 548 which, to be honest, is in an excellent moment, a large-scale war that is incredible. unfortunately, the Manhwa has been delayed by problems that the developers have had, the positive side is that they have recently returned so it is a matter of waiting for each chapter. Likewise, its first season was already adapted to anime so you can see all that arc in anime, it's the second season I don't know if it has been confirmed, but even so, I'm sure they will do it.

Hoy quiero hablarles de mi Manhwa favorito, TOWER OF GOD. Es posible que algunos ya lo conozcan debido a que recientemente se adaptó al anime, pero creo que la serie animada solo muestra la punta del iceberg de todo lo bueno que este Manhwa tiene para ofrecer. Haré mi mejor esfuerzo para no hacer demasiados spoilers para aquellos interesados en leerlo.
¿Por qué es mi favorito?
TOG tiene muchas cualidades que me han cautivado, pero en particular quiero destacar su sólida y única historia. La trama gira en torno a Bam, un chico que se encuentra atrapado bajo tierra sin tener idea de cómo llegó allí. Un día, tras escapar, conoce a Rachel (a quien odio), una chica que le cuenta sobre su sueño de ver las estrellas. Pero para cumplir su sueño, deben subir a la cima de una torre donde habitan seres con poderes especiales, cada uno etiquetado con un nombre que refleja su habilidad, la mayoría de personas normales son llamadas "Regulares", pero Bam resulta ser un "Irregular", alguien que representa una amenaza a las leyes establecidas dentro de la torre.
La historia de TOG me ha atrapado especialmente porque es diferente a lo que suelo leer. La trama avanza a un ritmo equilibrado, sin apresurarse, lo cual es importante ya que hay mucho que asimilar, especialmente porque la historia se relaciona con el pasado de los personajes. Al principio hay muchos vacíos, lo que te impulsa a seguir leyendo para entender lo que está sucediendo. Además, la historia no se centra solo en el deseo de Bam de subir la torre por Rachel, sino que hay mucho más detrás de su ingreso a la torre, lo que le da continuidad y la hace aún más interesante y original.
TOG hace algo muy bueno que solo he visto en ciertos animes o mangas, digo esto porque en otros Manhwa no lo he visto, es que TOG desarrolla muchos sus personajes no solo a el principal, si no que todo el entorno va evolucionando con este mismo mientras más avanza, esto es algo que no se ve en casi ningún Manhwa (por lo menos de los que yo he leído) asi que eso ya lo diferencia del resto.
Como tal tengo que decir que también tiene una cantidad absurda de personajes secundarios, que al principio siendo honesto no me gustaban nada, solo los 3 personajes principales que claramente eran lo que mejores diálogos tenían, pero mientras más avanzas más personajes conoces por lo que algunos resultan bastante interesantes y todos se vuelven mucho más relevantes a la trama por lo que los personajes segundarios a lo largo se vuelven mucho más agradables y no parecen solo de relleno. También muestran la historia de la mayoría de estos por lo que no necesariamente Bam será tu favorito, de hecho, el mío tampoco lo es hahaha.
En cuanto a el desarrollo a mi parecer lo cuidaron mucho ya que lo hacen mediadamente lento, pero que evoluciona muy bien, aunque no les mentiré mientras mas avanzas se siente como un festival de PowerUP para los personajes pero bueno esto es normal en muchos Manhwa ya que si no lo hicieran así se alargarían mas de lo esperado por lo que tardarían el doble hahaa.
Art
Algo que me gusta mucho de TOG es un arte, el diseño que tiene es muy increíble ya que va cambiando según la situación, muchas veces es muy abstracto para darle mas gracia a lo que estén diciendo por lo que esto ayuda mucho a la comedia, ah que fue algo que olvide mencionar es que TOG tiene una comedia bastante buena, lo gracioso es que algunas peleas se ven beneficiadas de esto mismo hahaha.
Muchas veces el dibujado en ciertas escenas de combate es increíble, claramente no es comparable a algunos dibujados como el de Solo Leveling que es algo mucha más serie e increíble, pero aun así TOG no se queda atrás, aunque mientras más avanza el arte se vuelve mucho más maduro por lo que ese aspecto infantil que tenia al inicio desaparece.

Ya llegando al final quería hablarles de este Manhwa mas que para hacerle una review era para recomendarlo ya que es bastante bueno por lo que siento que casi cualquiera podría disfrutar leyéndolo, actualmente va por el capitulo 548 que siendo sincero esta en un momento excelente, una guerra a gran escala que esta increíble, lastimosamente es porque se ha retrasado debido a problemas que han tenido los desarrolladores pero ya volvió a su emisión por lo que es cuestión de esperar cada capítulo. Igualmente, su primera temporada ya fue adaptada al anime por lo que pueden ver todo ese arco en anime, su segunda temporada no se si ha confirmado, pero aun así estoy seguro de que si lo harán.
Bueno mi gente hasta aquí mi post de hoy espero les haya gustado tanto como a mí, tengo que agradecer por esta temática por aquí ya que nunca espere escribir de TOG ya que como comenté al principio poca gente toca en cuenta a los Manhwa- Igualmente muchas gracias por leerme.
