Hello Bookies,haha.
I'm a tad bit excited today and I wish I could somehow play that TikTok sound that's goes like this,"He's backkkk". Cause yes guys, I'm cracking this reading block little by little. It's cracking and I can see the light on the other side through the small hole I've been able to burst through.
It's been months since I read a book I actually liked. I'm excited to tell you guys about this because I've been whynning on here about how I haven't been able to read books but now,I think I can. I'll tell you about the book I read now.
The name of the book my fingers laid theirselves on was Crowned by Emily Mcintier. It's a book about royalty, the throne, a little bit of war, romance and a tiny amount of violence. The story revolves around a young woman,Sara Beatreaux, the one and only daughter and child of a duke. Sara is on a quest to take revenge on the royal family, the Faasas for the murder of her father. The duke's life was taken by the new king, Micheal Fassa III, that had succeeded the late one,his father. She plots with her uncle and cousin to do this. First she was going to get married to the king and then take his life and the life of every other Faasa in the kingdom.
Sara had arrived at the castle as the King's soon to be wife and ready to start the preparation for a coup d'etat. She felt a hole in her plans when she found out there were rebels in the land; people who didn't like the way Micheal ruled. He ruled poorly and also supported discrimination. Categorizing the poor and below average humans as hyenas. That was what they were called,Hyenas. Sara didn't like the idea of inequality amongst humans, she despised it and wanted nothing to do with it. The rebels were a huge problem to her because even if she was able to claim the crown before their uprising, she was still at risk of getting overthrown by the rebel king.
There was someone her Uncle warned her about;never to cross or hold an actual conversation with. He was called the Scarred Prince, Prince Tristan, the King's brother. He was feared and loathed by many but somehow he intrigued Sara and it was quite the same for him.
Okay okay,I know what you're thinking. And I'll speak on it. Yes, Scarred can be predictive but it's an amazing book. Simple, easy, not too much conversations, not too much smut. It was a really wholesome book and it's a standalone.
I enjoyed every second of it. At first, I thought it was going to be a dark romance book cause of the cover but it ended up ✨just there✨. I don't know, probably because I'm so used to dark romance i can't differentiate which is which anymore. The author stated it was dark romance,I saw her effort in the book at making it dark romance but it came out a normal pretty book. I hope you try it and like it the way I do.
Thanks for reading.
