Me gusta la ciencia ficción, es uno de los géneros que me parecen más interesantes de leer. Entre ellos 1984 de George Orwell o la saga de la Fundación de Isaac Asimov, están entre mis preferidos. Hace unos años que tenía en lista este título, ganador del Premio Hugo y que al parecer en el 2023 tendremos una adaptación en Netflix. Fue publicada en el 2006, siendo su autor Liu Cixin. Es el primer libro de una saga de tres partes.
I like science fiction, it is one of the genres that I find most interesting to read. Among them 1984 by George Orwell or the Foundation saga by Isaac Asimov, are among my favorites. A few years ago I had this title on my list, winner of the Hugo Award and that apparently in 2023 we will have an adaptation on Netflix. It was published in 2006, being its author Liu Cixin. It is the first book of a three-part saga.
Sinopsis: Ye Wenjie, tiene una vida difícil, debido a la Revolución Cultural en China, ella ha tenido que mantener un perfil bajo, siendo una Astrofísica. Es debido a un castigo, que ella es trasladada a la base del proyecto Costa Roja, encargados de buscar contacto con vida extraterrestre. Estos acontecimientos cambiarán su vida y la de la humanidad.
Synopsis: Ye Wenjie, has a difficult life, due to the Cultural Revolution in China, she has had to keep a low profile, being an Astrophysicist. It is due to a punishment that she is transferred to the base of the Red Coast project, in charge of searching for contact with extraterrestrial life. These events will change her life and that of humanity.
La anterior sinopsis, si bien busca resumir, deja mucho afuera. Ya que para comenzar la historia es contada en saltos, y en que ciertos momentos se recuerdan los eventos pasados. A su vez, no hay un protagonista principal, sino diversos personajes, algunos más importantes que otros, que irán tomando conciencia de la toma de contacto con una civilización alienígena.
The above synopsis, while seeking to summarize, leaves a lot out. To begin with, the story is told in jumps, and at certain moments past events are recalled. At the same time, there is no main protagonist, but several characters, some more important than others, who will become aware of the contact with an alien civilization.
Es una novela que toca diversos temas científicos y que mediante escenarios, tratarán de hacer entender al lector los mismos, algunos más complicados que otros. Entre ellos está el problema de los 3 cuerpos, las múltiples dimensiones, comunicación espacial, etc. Eso sin dejar de crear una trama interesante, que muestra lo mucho que desconocemos del espacio y su capacidad de asombrarnos e incluso aterrarnos.
It is a novel that touches on various scientific issues and that, through scenarios, will try to make the reader understand them, some more complicated than others. Among them is the problem of the 3 bodies, multiple dimensions, spatial communication, etc.. All this while creating an interesting plot, which shows how much we do not know about space and its ability to amaze and even terrify us.
Otros puntos interesantes es el mezclar los acontecimientos de la Revolución Cultural, para hacer diversos símiles con acontecimientos futuros; a su vez, que marca la vida de varios personajes. Por otro lado, se explora cómo reaccionaría la humanidad a un contacto extraterrestre, las facciones que se podrían crear, entre ellas idealistas, combativas o serviciales.
Other interesting points is the mixture of the events of the Cultural Revolution, to make various similes with future events; in turn, that marks the lives of several characters. On the other hand, it explores how humanity would react to an extraterrestrial contact, the factions that could be created, among them idealistic, combative or helpful.
Me parece una novela adictiva, y creo que gustará a quien es fan del género. Planeo seguir leyendo los siguientes libros, espero poder reseñarlos en un futuro.
I find it an addictive novel, and I think it will appeal to anyone who is a fan of the genre. I plan to continue reading the following books, I hope to review them in the future.
