How many lakhs of births have we wandered through, O mind... O mind...
How many lakhs of births have we wandered through, we have obtained this human birth, brother.
If this birth passes, if this birth passes, we will not get it again.
No, no, no, it will not be found again.
That is why I will keep you in the midst of my heart, I will not let go.
The number of Bengalis who have not heard this song is probably close to zero, everyone will surely agree unanimously. This composition by Dwij Bhushan is essentially a Vaishnava song. When it comes to life in the voice of Lopamudra Mitra, it then finds a place in the hearts of millions of people. This song has been adorned in the voices of many talented Baul and Sufi singers, however, changes in some words are seen in almost every version of this song. Somewhere it is said, golden Gaud, somewhere golden deer, and somewhere golden Murshid; although these words change depending on place and time, the popularity of the song has never waned. A version of this song has also found a place in the novel “Tomay Hrid Majhare Rakhbo,” probably the original version. Can the person of the heart be let go? The greatest asset of life has to be carefully tied with a thread.

Story Summary
Story Line, The extraordinary sacrifice of a lover for a suddenly lost divorced beloved and giving her the seat of a wife.
The hero of the story is Kolorob. He lives in a mess. The heroine Nihon lives in the adjacent building. Since the windows are side by side, an exchange of hearts had taken place between the two when Nihon was in class ten and Kolorob was in honors second year. Their love goes on secretly. The boat of love sails away from everyone’s eyes. But one day it is caught by Nihon’s army father. Faced with strict conditions, Kolorob moves away from Nihon without meeting even once. He will come to ask for Nihon’s hand only after making himself worthy. When Nihon is crumbling in the separation from Kolorob, her father marries her off to a middle-aged unknown man.
Four years later, when Kolorob comes worthy to ask for Nihon’s hand, he learns that forgetting the promise given to Kolorob, Nihon’s father has married Nihon elsewhere. Kolorob’s heart broke into pieces that day, he never even tried to contact for Nihon’s happiness. Thus six years passed. On the other hand, Nihon’s husband was extremely addicted to drugs. There was no drug including Yaba that he did not do. In the intoxication, he inflicted inhuman torture on Nihon. He also forced Nihon to do drugs. Day by day, the oppression seemed to reach extreme levels. After Nihon became pregnant for the first time, after being forced to abort, the first child also died of pneumonia due to neglect, then separation happened with Nihon.
On the other hand, vowing not to make anyone else a life partner without Nihon, Kolorob adopts a baby boy. Name Kolpo. He starts raising the boy just like his own son. When Nihon returns and learns that Kolorob had come to her father for her, she makes various attempts to contact Kolorob. Even knowing Nihon’s past, Kolorob marries Nihon on the condition that Nihon becomes Kolpo’s mother.
Thus the novel ends.
Language Analysis
The novel is written in very simple, natural, fluent language. The novel can be read in one go. However, due to the lack of any eye-catching quotes, readers will be disappointed. If there were some artistic expressions of love here and there, readers would have enjoyed more. Now it feels somewhat bound. There was no use of simile in the description of Nihon’s beauty, as a result, the reader will have to struggle a bit to bring the character to life in the mind, that is the assumption.
Reading Reaction
Reading the book did not feel bad. However, no excitement worked either. Whatever the reader thinks while reading, exactly that will happen. Due to no twist in the story, I got a bit annoyed. When I read a book, I try to extract the author’s best quotes, in this book, I can say I did not get such, only a countable two or one were there, so a bit disappointed. If this is the state of the best-selling book of this year’s book fair, then it really creates disappointment in the mind. Of course, the author said this is her first written novel although published later. Two of her novels were published before this. Those novels will surely be better than this, I hope. The quotes I found.
The mind is softer than soil. Digging the mind is easier than digging soil.
One has to notice, in every action of the loved one, every feeling, every word, every hint one has to notice.
