Retomamos este viaje para tratar de descubrir la identidad de este misterioso personaje del Mundo de Canción de Hielo y Fuego; Manosfrías ¿Quién podría ser esta persona? o más bien ¿Quién pudo haber sido antes?
Acompáñame a descubrir las teorías y suposiciones más famosas y posiblemente algunas de las más acertadas de los fans para descubrir quién es Manosfrías; comencemos este increíble viaje entre la nieve.
Lamentablemente solo nos queda especular quien podría haber sido esta persona pues George RR Martin no ha dado mayor indicios de su origen; lo único que tenemos por cierto es que en el pasado fue un hermano de la Guardia Nocturna.
De aquí en adelante solo tenemos suposiciones y teorías; Teniendo en cuenta que fue miembro de la Guardia Nocturna.

Unfortunately, we can only speculate who this person might have been, since George RR Martin has not given any major clues as to his origin; the only thing we know for sure is that in the past he was a brother of the Night's Watch.
From here on we only have suppositions and theories; taking into account that he was a member of the Night's Watch.

Benjen Stark
El primer candidato que se nos viene a la mente es posiblemente Benjen Stark, esto también influenciado por lo ocurrido en la séptima temporada de Game Of Thrones donde podemos ver a Benjen Stark como un misterioso jinete negro que lucha contra los espectros.
Yo también fui de los que pensó que esta teoría era la más cercana a la identidad del misterioso jinete, pero si prestamos atención podemos encontrar varios fallos en la misma.
La primera posible falla es que Bran Stark no lo reconoce de nada, ni la voz (Manosfrías puede hablar) y a pesar de que esta ataviado con una bufanda y una capucha que cubre parte de su rostro Bran no se le hace medianamente familiar.
Este argumento es válido ya que el chico conoció a su tío Benjen en persona durante su estadía en Winterfell y recorrió con Manosfrías gran parte del territorio más allá del Muro.
El otro punto es que al llegar a la guarida donde se encuentra el Cuervo de Tres Ojos que tanto buscan, Manosfrías se queda atrás combatiendo a los espectros, en ese momento Hoja; una de las hijas del bosque les dice a Bran y compañía que no vale la pena preocuparse por él porque murió hace ya mucho tiempo, los hijos del bosque pueden vivir cientos de años así que cuando Hoja dice "hace mucho tiempo" es difícil creer que esté hablando de Benjen pues él despareció hace dos años desde los eventos trascurridos hasta el encuentro de Bran con Manosfrías.
The first candidate that comes to mind is possibly Benjen Stark, this also influenced by what happened in the seventh season of Game Of Thrones where we can see Benjen Stark as a mysterious black rider who fights against the wraiths.
I was also one of those who thought that this theory was the closest to the identity of the mysterious horseman but if we pay attention we can find several flaws in it.
The first possible flaw is that Bran Stark does not recognize him at all, not even the voice (Coldhands can speak) and although he is dressed with a scarf and a hood that covers part of his face Bran does not look half familiar.
This argument is valid since the boy met his uncle Benjen in person during his stay in Winterfell and traveled with Coldhands much of the territory beyond the Wall.
The other point is that when they reach the lair where the Three-Eyed Raven they are looking for so much is located, Coldhands stays behind fighting the wraiths, at that moment Leaf; one of the daughters of the forest tells Bran and company that it is not worth worrying about him because he died long ago, the children of the forest can live hundreds of years so when Leaf says "long ago" it is difficult to believe that she is talking about Benjen because he disappeared two years ago since the events that took place until Bran's encounter with Coldhands.
El padre de Craster | Craster's Father
Hay un explorador que siempre se suele olvidar cuando se habla de la Guardia Nocturna y ese es el padre de Craster, así es el padre de Craster fue un hermano juramentado de la Guardia Nocturna.
El padre de Craster secuestró a una mujer proveniente de la Aldea de Árbol Blanco y luego de un tiempo regresó al Muro, en Reddit esta teoría tuvo cierta relevancia pues se puede suponer que el padre de Craster es de esas pocas personas en Westeros que tiene alguna "magia especial" algo así como la magia de Bran, Jojen Reed o el mismo Brynden Ríos.
Esta suposición parte del interés particular que los Otros (los caminantes blancos) tienen en los hijos de Craster y quizás dicho interés se deba a esa "cualidad particular" de su ancestro y que dicha cualidad puede que lo hagan ese espectro único ajeno a la voluntad de los Otros.
Sin embargo nada de esta teoría está confirmada de ninguna forma por el autor así que no podemos tomarla como cierta por más buenas suposiciones que tenga.
There is one scout who is always often forgotten when talking about the Night Watch and that is Craster's father, that's right Craster's father was a sworn brother of the Night Watch.
Craster's father kidnapped a woman coming from the Village of White Tree and after a while he returned to the Wall, on Reddit this theory had some relevance as it can be assumed that Craster's father is one of those few people in Westeros who has some "special magic" something like the magic of Bran, Jojen Reed or Brynden Rios himself.
This assumption is based on the particular interest that the Others (the white walkers) have in Craster's children and perhaps this interest is due to that "particular quality" of his ancestor and that this quality may make him that unique specter alien to the will of the Others.
However, none of this theory is confirmed in any way by the author so we cannot take it as true no matter how good assumptions it has.
Guardias Nocturnos muertos o desaparecidos al otro lado del Muro | Nightwatchmen dead or missing on the other side of the Wall
Otros candidatos de los cuales se había especulado alguno podría ser Manosfrías eran los guardias desaparecidos durante la expedición al otro lado del Muro en el prólogo de del libro Juego de Tronos o el caso particular de Serpiente de Piedra miembro del grupo de expedición de Qhorin Mediamano en el libro Choque de Reyes.
La falla de esta teoría vendría a ser la misma que con la de Benjen Stark, son desapariciones que ocurren de manera muy reciente y sabemos que o cuando menos podemos suponer que Manosfrías murió al menos hace más de cien años
Other candidates of which it had been speculated some could be Coldhands were the missing guards during the expedition to the other side of the Wall in the prologue of the book Game of Thrones or the particular case of Stone Serpent member of the expedition group of Qhorin Halfhand in the book Clash of Kings.
The flaw of this theory would be the same as with that of Benjen Stark, they are disappearances that occur very recently and we know or at least we can assume that Coldhands died at least more than a hundred years ago.

Como seguramente notaron encontrar la identidad de este personaje misterioso es una tarea más difícil de lo que se podría esperar.

As you may have noticed, finding the identity of this mysterious character is a more difficult task than you might expect.
What are we overlooking? It seems that none of the characters in the novel fit the characteristics needed to be Manosfrías.... Perhaps we should go back in time, to before even Aegon Targaryen's arrival in Westeros; to a more remote age, perhaps the Age of Heroes.
El Ultimo Héroe | The Last Hero
La historia de este personaje es de esas que también están envueltas en un halo de misterio y mitología; este personaje le hizo la guerra hace mucho tiempo a los Caminantes Blancos y se alió con los hijos del bosque para poder afrentarlos y poner fin a la Larga Noche, uno de los más antiguos, desconocidos y grandes conflictos bélicos de este universo.
No sabemos qué fue de él luego de aquello, ni cuándo ni donde murió y podría ser un personaje a tener en cuenta, el único problema que veo con esta suposición es su increíble antigüedad; pues nació alrededor de ocho mil antes de la llegada de Aegon a Westeros y Manosfrías no es un personaje que este visiblemente tan descompuesto por el paso del tiempo, aunque esto es algo meramente interpretativo, quizás una vez que te vuelves espectro tu carne deja de descomponerse, esto no tenemos manera de saberlo porque no está confirmado en ningún lado.
Tampoco se conoce que el este personaje haya sido miembro de la Guardia Nocturna.
The story of this character is one of those that are also wrapped in a halo of mystery and mythology; this character made war long ago to the White Walkers and allied with the children of the forest to confront them and put an end to the Long Night, one of the oldest, unknown and great war conflicts of this universe.
We do not know what became of him after that, nor when or where he died and could be a character to take into account, the only problem I see with this assumption is its incredible antiquity; he was born about eight thousand before the arrival of Aegon to Westeros and Coldhands is not a character that is visibly so decomposed by the passage of time, although this is purely interpretive, perhaps once you become spectrum your flesh stops decomposing, this we have no way of knowing because it is not confirmed anywhere.
This character is not known to have been a member of the Night Watch.
El decimotercer Lord Comandante de la Guardia de la Noche | The Thirteenth Lord Commander of the Night's Watch
El Rey Nocturno | Night King
Quizás uno de los candidatos más probables, fue miembro de la Guardia Nocturna y comandante de la misma, también es bastante antiguo pero no tan antiguo como el Ultimo Héroe.
Su historia es muy interesante y a pesar de que ya la relaté hace bastante tiempo, no tuvo la recepción esperada y le faltaba también mucha información; muy probablemente vuelva a traerla para ustedes, con una mejor edición, mejor organizada y por supuesto mejor escrita con el plus de tenerla traducida al inglés para que más personas puedan leerla a gusto.
Nota; no confundir al rey nocturno de los libros con el de la serie ya que son personajes totalmente diferentes y con funciones en la trama totalmente distintas.
Perhaps one of the most likely candidates, he was a member of the Night Watch and commander of the Night Watch, he is also quite old but not as old as the Last Hero.

These were some of the most likely candidates to be Manosfrías, there is still one missing, one that I personally think is the most likely candidate to be this mythical character but I will talk about him on another occasion because I plan to make a post just for him.
