Hello..!!My Dear Hiveians, from BangladeshToday I will share it with you. Author Liane Moriarty book review - Here's One Moment.
There are some books that fill our minds with a strange feeling after reading. Here One Moment is just such an experience. When I started reading this book, I did not think that it would move us so deeply. But I gradually understood how a small moment can question all the memories, relationships, beliefs, and even personal truths of a family. The beginning of the story is quite calm and domestic. A family goes on a trip, hoping to spend some good time together. Just then, that "one moment incident happens when someone suddenly falls. It may seem like a very ordinary incident from the outside, but in that one moment, everything changes. This small fall brings all the unseen and unknown thoughts and suppressed words to the fore. It was as if we had found a torn photo album and returned to some old forgotten words, emotions, and regrets.
Liane Moriarty has a different style of writing. She never makes the characters mere paper people. Rather, it seems that they could be someone next door to us, or maybe we ourselves. Each character has a different pain, an attempt to live in their own way. They make mistakes, and are also afraid to admit those mistakes. Sometimes even to themselves. What I liked the most was the perspective of the book where a female character, who brings the whole story to our eyes, is always in a kind of dilemma. The way she struggles with what is true, what is false, where is love, and where is pain, felt very real. The author tells the story very fluently. The language is not complicated, but the feelings are deep. There were many places where I stopped and read it a few times to see what the words really meant. It felt like I was reading a part of my own life.
This book is a big deal. It made me think about how we actually neglect small events. A small moment, a blow of a word, an unspoken truth, these small things later have a very big impact. We are always looking for something big, but in reality, it is such small moments that change the course of life. I was really silent for a long time while reading the book. I kept remembering the words of some of the characters. It felt like they were really someone I knew very well. The pains that emerged from the story, the complications of relationships, the misunderstandings, everything seemed very familiar, very familiar.
At the end, if someone asks, why should you read this book? I would say, if you want to read something that is not just entertainment, but will leave a mark on your mind, then read this book. It is a mirror where you can see not only the faces of the characters, but also your own face. In my own words, Here One Moment has stopped me, forced me to think, and taught me to look at the moments of my life with new eyes.
Thank you everyone.
