¡Hola, queridos bookworms! Hoy les traigo la reseña del último libro que leí hace poco, se trata de la tercera entrega de la saga Carne y Fuego de Jenniffer L. Armentrout. Esta saga es un Spin Off de "De Sangre y Cenizas", y es recomendable leerlos en conjunto para ir tomando en cuenta las acciones que ocurren en ambos libros y aclarar muchas cosas que ocurren dentro del Lore.
Sera está secuestrada y apresada en una jaula dorada construida con huesos de los Antiguos para que no pueda escapar de los brazos de Kolis. Cada día y cada decisión que toma es pensando en el futuro del mundo y de la integridad de Nyktos, su esposo. Todo esto mientras le oculta a Kolis la verdad de quien se supone que es ella y de los sentimientos reales que siente hacia Nyktos. Cada día dentro de esa jaula es un desafío más, y lucha mientras descubre las maneras de escapar, derrotar al primigenio de la vida y de conseguir la liberación de su amado.
Hay que tomar en cuenta que los acontecimientos ocurridos en esta saga ocurrieron 1000 años antes de los ocurridos en la saga principal, y sabemos como van ocurriendo hasta ahora porque es una historia que ya se transmitió, aunque en la mayoría de los casos sabemos que pasó, pero no como pasó, y es por esto que siempre termino devorándome las páginas hasta el final solo para llegar a algún punto que conozco, y debo decir que aún no ha ocurrido.
Siempre me va a encantar esta saga, sin embargo, este no es mi libro favorito, aun cuando es bastante diferente a todo lo que he leído. Porque en la saga principal, a pesar de todas las penurias que ha podido pasar Poppy, y por ser muy fuerte, siempre ha estado protegida por su marido, por sus amigos, ejércitos y el reino. Pero Sera no ha sufrido la misma suerte, por lo tanto, tiene un desarrollo de personaje muchísimo mejor, aunque tiene aliados de su lado, no se le ha hecho tan sencillo para ella, todo ha estado en su contra empezando por ser una mortal y porque su camino a la ascensión no es habitual y debe prepararse para la muerte.
¿Qué fue lo que no me gustó? Como 5 capítulos seguidos de mucho spice innecesario y que obviamente era relleno. Ya yo me he resignado a que esto ocurra, pero lo que me molestaba era el lugar en el que se dedicaron a hacer esto, ya que en mi punto de vista interrumpía el desenlace de la novela. Ya sé que es mi culpa, porque yo quiero leer más acerca de la fantasía, pero estas novelas son Romance con fantasía y no puedo exigir más de esto. De igual manera, no dejo de sentirme un poco frustrada porque adoro a los personajes del spin-off.
Solo me queda por leer un solo libro de esta saga y ya me faltaría únicamente el último libro, que según las últimas actualizaciones que he leído, serán dos y se publicarían en septiembre de este año y abril del próximo año porque se alargaron los libros. Lo único que me molesta de esto es que además de esto, debo esperar las ediciones en español, por lo que será más tiempo de espera. Pero sí creo que terminaré de leerme el spin-off para finiquitar con esa parte y sentir que terminé otra saga que empecé hace mucho.

Sera is kidnapped and imprisoned in a golden cage built with bones of the Ancients so that she cannot escape from the arms of Kolis. Every day and every decision she makes is with the future of the world and the integrity of Nyktos, her husband, in mind. All this while hiding from Kolis the truth of who she is supposed to be and the real feeling she has for Nyktos. Every day inside that cage is another challenge, and she struggles as she discovers ways to escape, defeat the primordial of life and win the release of her beloved.
You have to take into account that the events that happened in this saga happened 1000 years before the ones that happened in the main saga, and we know how they are happening until now because it is a story that was already transmitted, although in most cases we know what happened, but not how it happened, and this is why I always end up devouring the pages until the end just to get to some point that I know, and I must say that it hasn't happened yet.
I will always love this saga, however, this is not my favorite book, even though it differs from everything else I have read. Because in the main saga, despite all the hardships Poppy may have gone through, and because she is firm, she has always been protected by her husband, by her friends, armies, and the kingdom. But Sera has not suffered the same fate, therefore, she has a much, much better character development, although she has allies on her side, it has not been so easy for her, everything has been against her starting with her being a mortal and because her path to ascension is not usual, and she must prepare for death.
What was it that I didn't like? Like 5 chapters in a row of a lot of unnecessary spice and that was obviously filler. I've already resigned myself to this happening, but what bothered me was where they went about doing this, as in my view it interrupted the denouement of the novel. I know it's my fault, because I want to read more about fantasy, but these novels are Romance with fantasy and I can't demand more of this. Likewise, I keep feeling a little frustrated because I adore the spin-off characters.
I only have one book left to read in this saga and I'm only missing the last book, which according to the last updates I've read, will be two and will be published in September this year and April next year because the books were lengthened. The only thing that bothers me about this is that in addition to this, I have to wait for the Spanish editions, so it will be more waiting time. But I do think I will finish reading the spin-off to finish with that part and feel that I finished another saga that I started a long time ago.
