Greetings, bookworms. I'm here with a review that's a little unusual compared to what I'm used to writing here. It's about the well-known work Fahrenheit 451, written by Ray Bradbury. I've had this book on my TBR list for a long time. And before I write the review, I need to clarify that what I say here is my point of view and not a universal truth. Reading is a personal act, and the way we perceive what we read is completely different for each of us. It is necessary for me to make this statement because the book in question is already a classic in literature, and although I understand the fervor for it, I had some problems while reading it.

Saludos, bookworms. Vengo con una reseña poco usual en comparación con lo que ya estoy acostumbrada a escribir por acá. Se trata de la conocida obra Fahrenheit 451, escrita por Ray Bradbury. Este libro lo tuve desde hace mucho tiempo en mi TBR. Y antes de hacer la reseña necesito aclarar que lo que diga acá es mi punto de vista y no una verdad universal. Leer es un acto personal y la manera en la que percibimos lo que leemos es completamente diferente para cada quién. Es menester para mí hacer esta sentencia porque el libro en cuestión es una obra que ya es clásica en la literatura, y aunque entiendo el fervor por ella, tuve algunos problemas mientras leí.

The reality of my experience reading this book is that I had a very bad time. It is very confusing. The narrative during the first half of the book was poor and very disjointed; you jumped from one place to another without any nuance or setting to prepare for the changes, and this often happened even within the same paragraph. Characters were pulled out of thin air without any prelude. I try to understand what processes the inhabitants of the time went through, what kind of suffering they endured, and what they were constantly subjected to.
The second part of the book seems to have been written by a completely different person; at least it was better edited and had a more coherent connection in terms of writing. But I still found it confusing. And I'm not talking about the background of the work, which is completely clear and understandable; I'm referring to the writing technique.
I did notice that he was concerned that the recent rise of television would detract from culture, in this case books, and that people would stop reading, abandon spirituality, and lose connection with the human beings around us.

La realidad de mi experiencia leyendo este libro es que me la pasé muy mal. Es muy confuso. La narrativa durante la primera mitad del libro era pobre y muy sacada de onda, saltabas de un lugar a otro sin matices ni ninguna ambientación que preparaba para hacer los cambios, y esto muchas veces incluso en un mismo párrafo. Sacaban personajes de la manga sin haber un preludio antes. Intento tratar de entender que procesos vivían los habitantes de la época, qué tipo de sufrimientos tenían y a qué se sometían constantemente.La segunda parte del libro si parece escrita por una persona completamente diferente, al menos estuvo mejor editada y tenía una conexión más coherente a la hora de escribir. Pero igual me siguió pareciendo confuso. Y no hablo del trasfondo de la obra, eso está completamente claro y entendible, me refiero a la técnica de escritura.
Si logré notar que le preocupaba que la reciente televisión le quitara peso a la cultura, en este caso a los libros y que la gente dejará de leer, dejará de lado la espiritualidad y la conexiones con los seres humanos a nuestro alrededor.
We can say that not much has changed. It's just that it's no longer television with its countless commercials that concerns us, but rather the constant use of social media. It's the same problem in two different eras. However, I understand that they were concerned that we would fall into human stupidity due to a lack of education and contact with reading. But over the years and currently, knowledge is not the current problem, in my view, but rather we are saturated with knowledge, even if it does not seem so. We want to know everything about everything, even if it is incorrect. All this with the rapid growth of social media.
The reflection after reading this famous novel is that we cannot neglect the arts, nor human contact, nor contact with nature. Little by little, we have become automatons; the first thing we do when we wake up is check our cell phones. The irony of all this is that we know it is not ideal, it is not healthy, but we continue to do it.
Yes, as a story to reflect on, it is highly recommended. But as a book to read for pure entertainment, it is incredibly poorly written. The good thing is that despite what is believed, younger generations are reading.

Podemos decir que no ha cambiado mucho. Solo que ya no es la televisión con sus innumerables pautas publicitarias lo que nos preocupa, sino el uso constante de las redes sociales, es el mismo problema en dos épocas diferentes. Sin embargo, entiendo que les preocupaba que cayeramos en la estupidez humana, por falta de educación y contacto con la lectura. Pero a lo largo de los años y actualmente, el conocimiento no es el problema actual, desde mi punto de vista, sino que más bien estamos saturados de conocimiento, aunque no parezca. Queremos saber todo de todo, así esto sea incorrecto. Todo esto con el vertiginoso crecimiento de las Redes Sociales.La reflexión después de leer esta famosa novela es que no podemos descuidar las artes, tampoco el contacto humano, así como el contacto con la naturaleza. Poco a poco nos hemos vuelto automatas, lo primero que hacemos al levantarnos es revisar nuestro celular. Lo irónico de todo esto es que tenemos el conocimiento de que no es lo ideal, no es saludable, pero lo seguimos haciendo.
Sí, como una historia para reflexionar es muy recomendable. Pero como un libro para leer por puro entretenimiento, está increíblemente mal escrito. Lo bueno es que a pesar de lo que se cree, las generaciones más jóvenes están leyendo.
