Greetings to the entire community! I am very happy that you have been part of my literary 2025. I hope you had an excellent end to 2025 and that you are starting 2026 full of resolutions. In this post, we will talk about resolutions, but in this case, literary ones. We will also explore a bit about my review and my readings for the year.
In 2025, I set myself the challenge of reading 50 books. Unfortunately, for one reason or another, I was unable to complete it. There were many reasons, but I think the main one was forcing myself to read books I didn't like just because they were trendy. Those, in particular, gave me reader's block. But the lesson here is that, in the end, 26 books in total is not a low number; it's much more than expected. Maybe I was a little ambitious, but I know it's something I can achieve with discipline.

Thanks to my wonderful apps, which I'll discuss later, I can remember what my favorite books of 2025 were. And the top three were all by Brandon Sanderson, who, in conclusion, was my biggest discovery, as I realized that I love well-written fantasy books with three-dimensional characters and powerful stories. I love losing myself in those fantasy worlds, and that's what I'll be reading this year. I'll finish all the trilogies, sagas, and universes I started and begin some that interest me.
As part of this recap, I want to do, as is customary, a top list of my favorite books from 2025.

1. The Well of Ascension and The Hero of Ages By Brandon Sanderson
I know I'm cheating by adding two, but I read so many Sanderson books in 2025 that I wanted to put the second and third books of the Mistborn trilogy in one place. These books were my happy place in January last year, which is why I made a little note to remind myself. But even though I'm sharing them with you, every time I remember these books, I know exactly why they became my favorites of all the years I spent reading fantasy.
Mistborn is an excellent way to get into Epic Fantasy. This is for all those who want to know how to start, or how to continue with something just a little more dense, and this is a good way. I am not adding the complete trilogy because I finished reading the first book of the saga at the end of 2024. Thanks to Vin, Elend, and Kelsier for letting me get to know them and for becoming some of my favorite characters in all the literary universes I've read. I'm sure more will join them.

Estoy consciente que estoy haciendo trampa al agregar dos, pero es que fueron muchos libros de Sanderson que me leí en el 2025 y quise concentrar el segundo y tercer libro de la trilogía de Mistborn en un solo lugar. Estos libros fueron mi lugar feliz en enero del año pasado y la razón por la que hice una pequeña nota que me serviría de recordatorio, pero aunque se las comparta, cada vez que recuerdo estos libros estoy clara de porque se volvieron mis favoritos de todos los años que me la mantuve leyendo fantasía.Mistborn es una excelente manera de adentrarse en la Fantasía Épica. Esto es para todos aquellos que quieran saber como iniciar, o como continuar con algo solo un poco más denso, y esta es una buena manera. No agrego la tilogía completa porque el primer libro de la saga lo terminé de leer al finalizar el 2024. Gracias a Vin, Elend y Kelsier por conocerlos y que empiecen a formar parte de mis personajes favoritos en todos los universos literarios que he leído. Seguro que se les sumarán más.

2. The Way of Kings. Series: The Stormlight Archive By Brandon Sanderson
With this book by Brandon Sanderson, which begins the saga: The Stormlight Archive, something else magical happened: I didn't care how long it was, it was addictive. Even though it was visibly denser than Mistborn, I was already immersed in the Cosmere and eager to continue learning about this world, how each character's story would unfold, how each character is perfectly developed so that we fall in love with each one of them until we are swept up in the whirlwind that is each story, each book, and each character.
As this is the first book in a fairly extensive series, it will be one of the series I have set myself the goal of finishing this year. Fortunately, this author is prolific and has a number of completed series, so I can keep myself busy reading for a long time (unlike a certain gentleman with a series with the word “thrones” in the title).

Con este libro de Brandon Sanderson, que da inicio a la saga: El Archivo de las tormentas, ocurrió otra cosa mágica: no me importó lo largo que fuera, era adictivo. Aun siendo un libro visiblemente más denso que Mistborn, ya estaba embebida en el Cosmere, y ávida de seguir conociendo este mundo, de como iba a desarrollarse cada historia de cada personaje, de como cada personaje está perfectamente desarrollado para que nosotros nos vayamos enamorando de cada uno de ello hasta caer en ese torbellino que se vuelve cada historia, cada libro y cada personaje.Al ser este el primer libro de una saga de libros bastante extensos, esta será una de las sagas que me he propuesto terminar este año. Por fortuna, este autor es prolífico, y tiene una serie de sagas finalizadas, por lo que puedo darme vida leyendo durante mucho tiempo (no como cierto señor con una saga con la palabra “tronos” en su título).
3. The Fires of Heaven By Robert Jordan
We continue with authors of lengthy books. Although Robert Jordan's long saga has been a rollercoaster ride for me in terms of pace, I know that I will finish reading it at some point in my life. This is the fifth book in the series, and I am not even halfway through it yet, but I liked how it ended, so I will definitely make significant progress with this saga this year. Although I cannot promise that I will finish it.
The lives of Rand, Egwene, and each of the characters in this saga are interwoven in such a detailed and magnificent way that at times it seems slow, but at no point do we feel that there is any filler. Each of the events that occur are important, and that is the main reason why there will always be a book by this author in this top 5 every year. It's completely addictive.

Seguimos con los escritores de libros largos. Y aunque con Robert Jordan, para mí ha sido una montaña rusa con respecto al ritmo de su larga saga, sé que terminaré de leerla en algún momento de mi vida. Este es el quinto libro de la saga y aún no llego ni a la mitad, pero me gustó como terminó, así que definitivamente adelantaré bastante con esta saga este año, pero no prometo que pueda terminarla.La vida de Rand, Egwene y cada uno de los personajes de esta saga, se va entretejiendo de una manera tan detallada como magnífica que en algunos momentos nos va pareciendo lenta, pero en ningún momento sentimos que haya relleno. Cada uno de los eventos que van ocurriendo son importantes y es la razón principal por la que siempre habrá un libro de este autor en este top 5 de cada año. Es completamente adictivo.
4. A Soul of Ash and Blood by Jenniffer L. Armentrout
It was impossible for me to make a top 5 list without including my favorite romantasy series. I don't know if this adventure will end this year, as the last book in the Poppy series is supposed to be published in Spanish this year. Let's see if they don't come up with something new because, unfortunately, that's how it is with some writers when a series starts to become successful; they start to fill it with filler.
However, even though I find the spicy scenes a bit boring, I continue to consume this author's work because I love the whole fantasy world built around the romance between the protagonists. I love them and will continue to do so until a better series comes along.

Era imposible que yo hiciera un top 5 sin poner a mi saga de romantasy favorita. No sé si este año termine esta aventura, que ya este año, se supone, que debería estar publicada en español el último libro de la saga de Poppy. Vamos a ver si no nos salen con algo nuevo porque, lamentablemente, así son estas cosas con algunos escritores cuando una saga empieza a ser exitosas, empiezan a llenar de relleno.Sin embargo, y a pesar de que me aburren un poco las escenas con spice, sigo consumiendo esta autora porque me encanta todo el mundo fantástico construido alrededor del romance entre los protagonistas. 5. Part of your world By Abby Jimenez
The discovery of the year was Abby Jimenez, although there is another romance author I also liked, I feel that I was much more captivated by the writing of this book, the story, and the characters than by the other.
In this list full of fantasy, there will always be some romance that allows me to relax and disconnect from dense reading. This one in particular, although quite predictable, filled me with excitement and the most beautiful kind of love. I think I'll also consider reading more romance novels this year. Although I'm not 100% sure about this decision yet, I always go with what my desire, energy, and reading time dictate. But it's highly likely that I'll continue reading some of this author's books this year.

El descubrimiento del año fue Abby Jimenez, aunque hay otra autora de libros de romance que también me gustó, siento que me sentí mucho más atrapada por la escritura de este libro, de la historia y de los personajes que por la otra.En este listado lleno de fantasía, siempre habrá algo de romance que me hace descansar y desconectarme de las lecturas densas. Este en específico, aunque bastante predecible, me llenó de mucha ilusión y de amor del más bonito. Creo que también consideraré seguir leyendo más romances este año. Aunque no estoy 100% segura aún de esta decisión, siempre me voy por lo que me dictan las ganas, la energía y el tiempo de leer. Pero es altamente probable que siga leyendo algún libro de esta autora este año.
To conclude, I want to talk to you about my goals for 2026. This year, I wanted to do something different, perhaps set myself a goal of reading one book per month. But that won't help me, because it's too easy. Especially when I read 20 books in 2024 and 26 in total in 2025. However, even though I didn't reach my goal, I feel like it was still a good number, and I'm going to keep aiming to read 50 books, because I know I can do it.
To keep track of my annual challenges, I use both Goodreads and my favorite app: Bookmory. It also gives me my annual statistics. I also tried StoryGraph throughout the year, but it's not an app I would recommend at this point because it's missing a lot of books and my statistics were truncated for that reason. So this year I'll stick with my two favorite apps, and since I'm in another country, I can download an app that everyone recommends called Fable, which I'll review soon.
Obviously, I've already started reading the first book of the year, and the first review is coming soon. Para concluir, quiero comentarles acerca de las metas de 2026. Este año quería hacer algo diferente, tal vez ponerme la meta de 1 libro al mes. Pero eso no me va a ayudar, porque es muy fácil. Aún más cuando en 2024 leí 20 libros, y en 2025 fueron 26 en total.
