Today I remembered a book I read ,this book taught me a lot of things it was quite educating,it showed me what real determination means even when there is a set back, set your self up and move on with your life
Let me give you the full details of the story
The book was captioned: the pregnant Virgin
It was a story of a girl whom the parent gave their all to make sure she furthers her education. She was a good girl with a pure heart, she tried her best to make sure mm reg
parent sacrifice were not in vein.
She entered the university of her choice her mother never allow her lack things she needed and she manages her stuff wisely.
In school she was quite intelligent because she reads her books offen, she lived in the building near the school hostel, she is known as someone who abide by the school rules, regulations and policies
She never let male students distract her from her studies, unlike her roommate, who was often out spending time with her boyfriend. Some people began to whisper that she might be into girls, while others believed she was simply pretending to be reserved.
Her friends often tried to make her feel left out or jealous by bragging about their romantic adventures, but she remained completely unbothered.
Still, she had one close male friend someone she saw as a brother. They were quite close, often behaving like real siblings. She helped him with assignments and took time to explain subjects he struggled with. Their bond grew so strong that many assumed they were in a relationship, but they always made it clear they were just friends.
The boy's friends were taken aback when he told them that he and the girl were nothing more than just friends that they had never even been intimate. They looked at him with disbelief, calling him naive and clueless about how the world really works. "You don't know how to manage opportunities wisely," one of them scoffed.
Then, with an unsettling kind of enthusiasm, they claimed they could help him. One of them pulled out a small vial containing a sedative. “Make sure she takes it,” he said, slipping it into the boy’s hand. “After that, the rest is up to you.
boy had always harbored feelings for her but never found the courage or the right moment to act on them. So when his friends handed him a sedative and suggested a plan, he saw it as an opportunity.
Later that week, he went over to her dorm building, knowing her roommates were out. Pretending he needed help with a subject he struggled with, he knocked on her door. She welcomed him in, happy to assist as always.
As she explained some concepts to him, he casually handed her a bottle of water, saying it would help clear her throat. Trusting him completely, she accepted it without hesitation and took a few sips.
Soon after, she began to feel lightheaded and drowsy. Her vision got weak, her words slowed, and eventually, she slumped forward fast asleep. The drug had taken effect.
The boy looked at her, a twisted smile across his face. "It’s working," he whispered to himself. Then, while she lay unconscious, he violated her.
It was an act of betrayal. An act of violence. It was RAPE.
When the girl woke up ,not knowing what happened she didn't remember anything that happened last night she only remember that her friend came for her to help him with his projects.
Letter during the day he came back to the girls dumb building pretending than nothing happened since the girl didn't know she was naive about it he started pretending to be angry why he was doing so as to confuse the girl the more, she felt sorry for what she did and apologize to him he told him that him trying him to happen again then she dressed up for that day and went for her class
After some days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, she began to notice changes in her body signs that something wasn’t right, She felt sick often and had other symptoms that made her worried, Deep down, she was scared, but she kept telling herself it couldn’t be pregnancy. She believed it had to be some kind of illness because she knew she had never done anything that could lead to that.
To be sure, she went for a check-up at a nearby clinic. But to her shock, the test came back positive she was pregnant. Still in disbelief, she went for another test, hoping the first one was wrong, but again, the result was the same.
Her friends and roommates, who had always doubted her reserved nature, began gossiping to each other. They said they had always known she was just pretending.
When it was confirmed that she was pregnant she left school and set for home at home her parents were very disappointed in her, her father even said that she will not stay in the same roof with them her village friends or turn their back against her they said that people that had a great opportunity don't know how to use their opportunity well she was just left all alone by herself with no one to turn to,
Her father later married her out to an old man Whose wife have just died and needed somebody to take care of him,
The girl made up her mind to run away, and she did. She contacted one of her mother’s sisters and begged her not to tell anyone about where she was. Her aunt agreed, and the girl stayed with her throughout her pregnancy.
After giving birth, she returned to school. With her aunt's support, she was able to sponsor herself and continue her education. While in school, she met a kind-hearted engineer named Michael. He loved her sincerely, even after knowing she had a child.
Back home, everyone was worried. They didn’t know where she was, and some even feared she might be dead. Others thought something terrible had happened to her. But one bright day, she returned to the village—strong, confident, and beautifully dressed. She stepped down from the car, and though her parents didn’t recognize her at first, they soon realized it was their daughter. She looked stunning.
She introduced Michael to them and told them he was her fiancé. After hearing about the family traditions and what needed to be done, Michael paid her bride price to the elders and married her.
Now, she has completed her university education and gotten a well-paying job. She didn’t let anything stop her not pain, not shame, not setbacks. She kept pushing forward and built a beautiful life for herself.
