This book has to be the predecessor of all Lord of he anything book after that. It was an obligatory read in schools all over. How many of us have found ourselves in similar situations out of control in our lives . The story of how humans could manage themselves in free for all everybody for themselves is more basic than we imagine.

This is a great example of it. Piggy the main character is the victim of bullying and all thought the books he learns to oppose authority imposed by force on him althought he does gain respect but he does pay with his life was a good read then and now. Really great novel by a noble prize wining author William Golding.
