I think this is the best post I have read in weeks on this platform. I learned a few words and I liked the pictures, the bookshelf, the Moroccan rug… I have read only one by Émile Zola, La Bête humaine, and that was in 2023 (I even wrote a post about it); I tried to read Nana this year but couldn’t pass half the book, maybe I’ll try next year. As for Steinbeck, I have always loved his first novel Cup of Gold, but didn’t like The Pearl. Books are necessary and will continue being so, only what is in paper lasts forever. There’s a healing power in just sitting down and perusing a book. Screens are not good for a person and I always try to limit my time of them. I recommend you not to get rid of those botanical and cooking books. Anyway, I liked this post. I also write about books here, and I hope you can check some of my recommendations.
