Not for the first time
and definitely not for the last time
I ask(ed) myself whether the sheer randomness of my creative process - especially when it comes to writing, illustrating and editing my book(s) - is exceptional. It sure isn't normal or average.
Also, 'exceptional' sounds like a positive thing so let's label it that way.
This chaos drives me crazy, at times
and makes me wonder whether I will ever finish my projects.
But then I tell myself that it's actually all about the process and making that interesting enough to not quit a project is probably a good thing.
Sometimes, though, I wish I actually had some kind of logical ( step by step ) process, to make things easier for myself but it seems that my creative process is pretty much like my life, made up of some vague ideas over what I want to do and ( usually short term) goals, with as little planning involved as possible - to leave plenty of space for improvisation.
Today's sketchie / illustration was based on the following scene of Hypersensitivosaurus and Cold Turkey that talks about the giant overly sensitive lizard being distracted by a mosquito while taking a break from chasing a big running bird.
Enjoy!
Meanwhile I'll keep doing my best to enjoy my random creative chaos.
P.S. The actual chaos is not represented in this post but believe me, it is (t)here and not just in my head. If you have been following me for a while, you might have picked up on it.
