Hello Book Lovers..
This is the second John Green book that I have finished after Let It Snow. I have tried to be as efficient as possible in reading this novel, like I could read it while waiting for the bus to go to the office, then I was hanging out in a restaurant when I had an appointment with a friend, then I stole a lot of time on my way home from the office to read this novel. It is really fun to be able to always bring this book everywhere just to read it.
I chose this book as the second book out of 4 John Green books that I bought preloved from my friend, because I was curious about the title. I wanted to know how the main character's story with the Katherines, and here we go…
The Main Story Highlights
An Abundance of Khaterines tells the story of Colin Singleton who has just been dumped by his 19th Khaterines. Colin has a really strange story where he has dated 19 times and all of his girlfriends are named Khaterines. This is really strange but the strangeness is real for Colin. The 18-year-old teenager is called a miracle baby by his best friend named Hasan Harbish who is also a genius teenager who likes to make theories and anagrams. Another personality is that he is always attracted to a woman named Katherines who then dumps him in just a few days, so that at the age of not yet 20 he has been dumped by 19 Katherines.
Because he doesn't want his best friend to linger in sadness because he was dumped by the 19th Khaterine in his life, Hasan takes the initiative to invite Colin to go on an aimless trip with an old car called the Hearse. Colin and Hasan's journey began from the first time they stepped on the gas to go through the roads to Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Who would have thought that they would finally meet Lindsey Lee Wells who then invited them to work at a retail factory. The idea to accept the job came from Hasan who previously decided to take a leave of absence from college because (probably) he did not have the money for it and had to work.
Then the story between Colin, Hasan, Lindsey, Lindsey's boyfriend who is also named Colin and the other Katrina begins here. In the escape that brought Colin and Hasan to become workers, Colin and Lindsey's relationship was built, but unfortunately there was another Colin who got in the way of Colin Singleton.
My Rare Review
The first thing that came to my mind when reading Colin and Hasan's story was wow. How can someone be interested in dating a girl with the same name since childhood—yes, Colin has admitted that he has been dating since he was young. Then I was very interested in the character of Colin's best friend, Hasan Harbish. I thought, how can John Green be so tolerant by including a Muslim character with such good details. He made Hasan's character really right—from how he worships, prays, and his religious prohibitions—I have to praise John Green for this.
When the characters started to grow I seemed to have difficulty enjoying this book. too many characters stopped by and their names were shortened, so that I who forgot this did not know and had to reread it. However, because I was curious about Colin's fate and the story of Hasan who had his first lover in his life, I continued it slowly. There was a very tense part that made me roll my eyes. I was just as surprised as the characters there.
In addition, I just found out that bees and wasps have a very slight difference. Thanks to Colin who explained it, because if not, I definitely would not have known that the two were different.
This book is rated 3 out of 5. I hope the next book is more interesting.
Thanks in advance guys, to read my blog and hope you like my post!
See you on the next post...

Hi, Halo, Annyeong! Welcome to my galaxy.
I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of those are romance.
Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author, traveler wannabe, and blogger.
