Hello everyone...
I found this book through social media, it looked tempting. I mean, the cover—with a woman eating a watermelon—was very interesting. I then saw the reviews on several blogs, most of the reviewers recommended this book. Actually, this book is the second book by the author, but compared to the first book, I was more interested in this one. That was because at that time—when I first saw this book, my workload was getting heavier. Because it was heavy, I was exhausted and felt like I wanted to be a pig. That relates to the title of this book, that's why I wanted to read it.
Another factor is that I am writing a fiction novel that requires some research on mental issues, so this book written by a psychiatrist is the right choice to be my reading source.
Let's talk about this book…
A Woman Who Wants to Be a Watermelon Tree in Her Next Life
This book was written by a psychiatrist, telling about his daily life as a psychiatrist. The opening of this book feels like it already has a lot of new input until it arrives at a story told by the psychiatrist. This is a true story that he experienced while doing a consultation. About a young woman named Lalin.
When she first visited the psychiatrist, Lalin was very rude and unfriendly, but the author tried to do his job not to respond to his patient's unpleasant attitude. Lalin had not been able to walk on her two legs for eight years and only relied on a wheelchair. Lalin had only asked for medicine for the severe insomnia she was experiencing, but the author said that he did not give Lalin medicine. Lalin consulted intensively and continued to tell everything that made her life feel very difficult. The psychiatrist only listened to the story and gave a little advice—no medicine was prescribed because according to the psychiatrist Lalin did not need medicine. Slowly Lalin became a better person.
In this book, the author tries to convey that what we experience in this world is indeed difficult—it is natural for us to feel tired, to want to get out of our comfort zone, but in the end, this book teaches us that making peace with the existing situation is the key to peace of mind. It's okay if you used to feel stupid, we've all felt stupid.
The author tells the story in a very easy-to-understand style, there are no difficult dictions or vocabulary. He managed to make me feel at home reading more than 3 chapters in one sitting just to find out what really happened to Lalin.
I give this book a rating of 4 out of 5. It seems that after this I have to read his first book, the best seller.
I love this part, when the author ask: In the next life, what do you want to be? He continue his type with, Do you want to be happy? Why you waiting for the next life? Why not start from now?
It's simple but has deep meaning!
Thanks in advance guys, to read my blog and hope you like my post!
See you on the next post...

Hi, Halo, Annyeong! Welcome to my galaxy.
I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of those are romance.
Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author, traveler wannabe, and blogger.
