Hi booklovers...
Since I read my first book by Dee, It was Perahu Kertas and then I become her big fan even though I'm not read all books yet. I love how Dee spin a yarn.
This is 4th book that I read, and Aroma Karsa was not thin book. But, trust me, If you read the epilogue, you won't to stop until the end of the pages. okay call me over.
Aroma Karsa: The Beautiful Literature
For Dee lovers, I think they will agree If I said that Aroma Karsa is a beautiful literature of Dee. Cause she was great author with her own imagination and fully research. It makes every her books, even in fantasy genre sounds like real story. It's fun and fully adventure. I can call her as A Genius.
Aroma Karsa was told about the expedition to find beautiful fairy plant named Aroma Karsa. Raras Prayagung was a person that ambitious to find out that plant. She was knew about that fairy plant by heritage of her grandmother. She is believe that plant will make her wish happened. No one knew about that plant and its magic.
Raras spent her life to find that fairy plant. There's an accident in the past, when her first expedition which's make her foot paralysed, but she's never give up. 20th Years later, she still has that ambitious. To find the fairy plant was not easy cause the identity of that plant is only can identified by smelling.
There are two peoples who have that special smelling. It was her daughter, Tanaya Suma and the boy named Jati Wesi. Jati Wesi was grew up in the village which's TPA Bantar Gebang the biggest garbage dump in Indonesia with poor condition. What he is have was his special smelling and that speciality making him nicknamed the mouse nose Hidung Tikus. Raras then found him and wanna him being her member to the expedition to Aroma Karsa.
Then the story being more challenged when Jati Wesi meet Tanaya Sukma, the person who has same speciality. At the first, Suma is being rude to Jati cause she has big ambition to being the member of that expedition. With Jati presence, Suma felt rivaled.
With all incident while they were met, Suma finally accepted the Jati Wesi presence. They even were fallin in love, even though their romance was not dominant in these story.
How Many Plot Twist That Make the Reader Being Dumbfounded
The thing that I loved from Dee's book is her story telling was fully of knowledge. It's like I learn again like I'm a student again. Aroma Karsa has how many knowledge about the scent, texture and etc. Besides, this book has many adventure in imagination. Dee is success to visualization all things include the each character, each place, each smell, and each what ever she was told in that story.
In the first, I amaze with Raras' character. She is my favorite character beside Jati Wesi. But in the end of the story I being surprised by her actual identity and her characteristic. It was like, Oh No, why was I deceived and didn't realize how greedy she was.
This story was half fantasy but Dee made it's not like fantasy. Like I said before that this is story like true story. Dee was proficient enough to mix everything was close to us to something elegance and lux.
I have high expectation about that fairy plant. I imagined by the cover that Aroma Karsa was beautiful plant ever in the world. But when Jati Wesi and Tanaya Suma found out the Aroma Karsa. In my imagination again after read the detail of that plant, it was not that beautiful like I thought before. It's like Raflesia Arnoldi and I really upset about the shape of that fairy plant. Hahaha...
Even though I upset about the identity of that fairy plant, I really satisfied about all story. It's really fully puzzles that make you, readers, dont want to do anything before accomplished their Aroma Karsa.
After this book, I want to reread Supernova. I was read two stories and left around next 4-5 books. I will re read cause that story was slipped in my mind. Hahaha...
After that I had Rapijali in waiting list. I received some spoiler that those book was about romance and then make me take it out from my near waiting list. I still has thriller novel to support Baruna writing process. Gegege...
See you in the next book review and thank you for stopping by.
